Kurama put down his book as he spotted a familiar trio walk up to the porch where he had been previously enjoying his book.
"Good day Kuwabara, Yukina," he greeted.
"Uncle Kurama!" A little sea green haired child latched onto the Kitsune's leg. It seemed she was getting into the habit of calling him 'Uncle' just as Keiko's son Kochi had. Not that the kitsune minded at all.
"Hello Yura," he smiled warmly as he bent down and scooped the child into his arms.
"Still holding yourself together eh Kurama?" Kuwabara chuckled.
"I doubt he'd be that much trouble Kazuma," Yukina gently scolded her mate.
"He's not," Kurama assured. "Please, come in."
"So, is Yusuke here?" Kuwabara asked, almost timidly.
"He should be, I'll get him."
"No!" the tall man suddenly said. "That's not necessary…really." Kurama looked at his friend suspiciously, why was Kuwabara acting so nervous?
"Is something wrong?" he questioned the two who were suddenly looking guilty.
"Well…" Yukina started.
"Hey Kuwabara, Yukina!" Yusuke greeted as he strolled into the room. "Hey squirt!" He ruffled Yura's hair causing her to giggle. Kuwabara, strangely, began slowly making his way back to the door.
'What could possibly have him so…?' Kurama's thoughts were suddenly cut off by Yura's greeting.
"Auntie Yusuke!" The room suddenly became very silent as Kurama suddenly realized why the couple had been so nervous. Ever so slowly, Yusuke turned his head to Kuwabara who looked like a deer caught in head lights.
"Yusuke, I can explain, really!" He tried to defend himself. Yusuke approached him slowly, like a wolf stalking a sheep.
"Three counts," Yusuke growled dangerously.
"Eh Yusuke?"
"One."
"Come on buddy, I didn't…"
"Two."
"Yusuke!"
"Three!" Yusuke chased Kuwabara once around the living room and out the back door, the yelling from the two became incoherent.
"Would you like some tea Yukina?" Kurama offered, still holding Yura on his hip.
"That would be nice," she replied.
