Castle snatched the to-go bag from between the seats, and removed himself from the passenger side of the car, closing the door behind him. Making a path towards the elevator he listened for the familiar clack of Kate's heels on pavement, as she joined him at his side. Passing the entrance to the stairwell, he felt himself pushed beyond its threshold and against the wall; her lips finding his before he could comprehend what just happened. She drew herself closer, smashing the to-go bag against his chest.

"Lunch," he mumbled against her kiss, trying to rescue the food from becoming mush. Kate slid a hand from his neck and relieved him of his burden, the sound of paper crunching against the steps beside him. Slowly running her hand back up his shirt, he felt her tug the first few buttons free, the tips of her fingers caressing the small portion of exposed skin. His rational mind started to slip away as she deepened the kiss and brought herself even closer, her hips pressing against his. He brought his hands around her, slipping one into her hair, as the last tendrils of thought slipped away.

Kate pulled back from her on-slot just as he drifted his hands towards the buckle of her belt, a devilish grin on her face as her gaze met his. "Don't you know this isn't a secluded spot, Castle," she started, her voice laced with teasing notes, as she retrieved the lunch bag from the floor, her hand 'accidently' brushing his thigh. "Plus, I am sure the boys are starved." She held up the sack before heading towards the doorway, pausing to turn a sultry smile his way. "You coming? Or, are you just going to stand there gawking?"

Um... Castle choked down a gulp of air, trying to bring his entire being back into focus. Taking a tentative step forward he followed her back out into the parking garage and towards the elevator, his eyes following the sway in her step.

"You might want to button that up." Kate stated simply, the contented devious purse of her lips stating more as she pointed at the top portion of his shirt. She turned back to face the elevator doors, the satisfied grin still splayed on her face.

Castle mechanically followed her instructions, finishing the last button just as the doors opened to the hustle and bustle of homicide. Taking a second and a third deep breath, he felt the full draw of oxygen finally settling his brain functions to logical reasoning. Taking a place at her side just as she passed the food over to Ryan and Esposito. Finding his place in his chair, he watched her take her seat, resuming the stack of paperwork she had left, all trace of the smile gone.

"What happened to my lunch," Ryan commented around the rustle of wrappings.

Choking on a laugh, Castle held back a tell tale smile and chanced a glance over his shoulder at their colleague holding up the mangled remains of a sandwich. He lifted his attention to Kate's desk the curiosity evident in his stare. Beside him, Esposito leaned in holding a short whispered conference with his partner. Ryan looked back at the mashed meal, grimacing slightly as he returned the food to the bag.

"I just remembered I had a rather large breakfast," he added, pushing the lunch bag to the side, the 'I really wanted that sandwich look' written on his features.

Castle turned away from the knowing stares to face Kate, her head bowed over her work, the slight tinge of pink flushing her cheeks. Sitting back in his chair, he allowed himself a small inward grin. He pulled out his cell phone settling in to pretend to play games as he sent playful texts to Kate, hoping to keep that beautiful color in her face the rest of the day.
