Note: set season 13, Joe is 10months old, Abby can have more kids, after Ames storyline.
Chapter 1
"Single gunshot wound to the chest, guessing a 9mm, BP 100/60, pulse 132, resps at 32" said the paramedic.
"Exam 2" said Luka running beside the gurney "Abby can you help me with this one please"
As Abby followed Luka she looked at the patient he was so young and helpless, all she could think of was who would wanna hurt someone so innocent.
"Ok, on my count, one, two, three" shouted Luka carefully pulling the boy onto the hospital gurney.
"He lost ½ a litre of blood and had 2mgs of atropine in the field" said the paramedic leaving.
Abby hooked him up to an IV while Luka listened to his chest.
"He's got a hemothoarax, set up a chest tube tray" said Luka.
Abby looked at the boy and guessed he was about 6 or 7 years old.
"15 French" Abby said holding the laryngoscope, she threaded the guide wire and started bagging him.
The doors opened "his brother is at the desk, can I bring him in" asked Frank.
"I'll go get him" said Luka leaving the room.
At the admin desk was a little boy about the same age as the one they were treating.
"I need to ask you some questions, then you can see your brother ok?" asked Luka. The little boy nodded.
"What is your brother's name?"
"Joe" said the boy.
"Do you know your address or phone number?"
"4932735" said the boy "can I see my brother now?"
"Sure, I'll get someone to get your parents" said Luka taking the little boy to exam 2. As they walked Luka explained that his brother is attached to a lot of tubes to help him breathe.
The little boy stood at the door, unzipped his jacket, pulled out a gun and pointed it at everyone in the room, he pulled the trigger and shot his brother in the abdomen, quickly put the gun back into his jacket and ran away.
The heart monitor beeped rapidly as Abby and Luka tried to save the boy.
"He's in v-fib, let's shock him" said Luka putting the red defibrillators pads on his chest "Charging to two hundred, clear" the heart monitor continued beeping.
"Charging to three hundred, clear"
"No change" shouted Abby "amp of epi"
"Charging to 360, clear"
"Asystole"
"He's gone, call it"
"Time of death, 15.02" said Abby turning off the heart monitor.
Abby and Luka walked over the admin in shock, how could you shot your brother, twice.
"The boy gave us a number that doesn't work" said Frank.
"That's not the only thing he lied about" said Abby picking up another chart.
"Huh" said Frank confused.
"That wasn't his brother, he must be part of a gang or something" said Luka picking up another chart.
"Wow, they sure are getting them young" said Frank.
