Peace and Quiet
It was a calm afternoon at the ancient ruins. Many Gear Chronicle units already ate and went about their business, whether it be leaping back and forth through time or play about in another era.
Chronoethos, Jackal leaned peacefully against a statue enjoying his time alone reading a book under a crack of the ruins revealing sunlight.
From the shadows, 2 pairs of eyes gleamed and blinked as the two creatures made their way to sneak behind the Zodiac Beast.
Ethos turned the page over while the strangers readied themselves to pounce.
Suddenly out from the shadows Chronovolley, Rabbit dashed forward to swing his shoe up towards Ethos' head.
Ethos sat down and raised his head to watch Volley splat against a wall.
Ethos reached over to his sceptre and deflected two revolving gears flying at him and looked up to see the gears click into the head of Chronotherapy, Hamster as big ears.
Therapy flew over to Volley and tugged his shoulders with all her might. Ethos gazed at the futile efforts of his comrades as they squeaked and squirmed to release Volley from his stone prison.
Ethos sighed and slipped a bookmark in his book before hesitantly closing it. The canine zodiac rose from his comfort zone and walked over to the two.
The black and red eyes of Therapy and Volley gleamed once again as Volley kicked himself out of the wall to attack Ethos with the rodent zodiac.
Ethos swiftly bopped both of them on the head with his sceptre. They laid out cold with swirling eyes under the Jackal's mercy.
Ethos raised his sceptre and thrusted it in between the old stone tile floor to activate his skill. A blue portal opened widely in front of him. He crouched down to lift Volley by the ears and Therapy by the tail before tossing them into the portal that led to the future.
As the portal closed, Ethos nodded and huffed in satisfaction. Leaving the sceptre standing tall, He went back to the statue and walked around in circles to get comfortable before sitting down. He brushed dust off the cover of his book before resuming.
His ears twitched when he heard something shuffle around in the shadows. He turned his head to the sound and saw the creature emerge.
It was Chronodoze, Sheep and she was treading wobbly towards Ethos. She rubbed her drowsy eyes and dragged a large pillow across the floor with her hoof.
Doze stopped in front of Ethos and shuffled her hooves nervously. Ethos blinked and shifted himself to give the ram zodiac some space to lie down.
Doze nodded her head in appreciation and laid herself down on the pillow before curling up the warmth that is Ethos.
Ethos turned back to his book and read for the entire day with his comrade snoozing next to him. When Ethos read through his 12th book, his sceptre tipped over, the portal materialised sending Therapy and Volley leaping from the past to the present.
Ethos shook his head as he watched them roll uncontrollably like barrels. He gently shook Doze awake and stepped up to retrieve his sceptre. The canine zodiac lifted his books and walked with the ram zodiac to find a quiet place.
