Morgana settled herself into her bath. As Gwen poured the hot water onto her bare skin, she felt a moment of complete relaxation, something incredibly rare for a girl like her. She didn't speak. She allowed her mind to wander.
Frustratingly, she realized that her thoughts first turned to Arthur, who would soon be king of all of Camelot. He was an incredibly handsome man and knew how to be charming, but in truth he was guaranteed to be rude and conceited.
Morgana knew that he was capable of being a good and kind man, but he just rarely showed that side of him. When they were children, they were the best of friends, but now all they did was argue. Unless they were arguing, they barely spoke.
She chastised herself. Why was she the only one who could see this side of him? Merlin certainly couldn't, for he was Arthur's slave. Gwen definitely couldn't, as she agreed that he was a vain and ill-tempered person who she wished Merlin didn't have to serve. Perhaps Uther? After all, he was the man's father. Maybe that was why Arthur was this way. Uther was, too, arrogant and proud.
Morgana wondered why her thoughts were coming to Arthur so often lately. They were speaking a lot more since the arrival of Merlin. Perhaps this was his magical effect on people. Gwen was certainly smitten.
Suddenly the door opened and Arthur came in. Morgana felt a wave of panic rush through her.
Could I have summoned him through my mind?
Gwen could see that this would be a private moment. She opened the door and left.
"Morgana, I…" he began.
Morgana smirked. He was always at a loss for words around her. She lifted herself halfway out of the bath and pulled his face towards hers. Their lips were entwined within seconds. Morgana loved this feeling. The feeling of everything being right and coming together.
Arthur stepped back. He was acting a little strangely for him.
"Morgana?" she heard Gwen yell from outside the door. But it wasn't coming from outside. It was coming through Arthur's lips. She felt cold water being splashed onto her face. Slowly she opened her eyes and realized that Arthur was gone.
"Where's Arthur?" she demanded.
"Arthur?" Gwen repeated confusedly.
"I've been here the whole time and nothing has come in and out of these doors at all."
I suppose that people day-dream crazy things.
Morgana sighed and lifted herself out of the bath. This was what she got for allowing her mind to wander:
Total Disappointment.
