It may sound outrageous, but sometimes Ryu misses being involved in Pluto.
Life back then was so much simpler. All he needed to do was to fulfil his grandfather's wishes. King Hades was not an easy man to please, but what he wanted had always been well within Ryu's ability. Ryu had glided through those days effortlessly, concerning himself only with case after case after case. Everything else was taken cared of. It had been an easy life.
Things are very different now. Ryu and his father both need to learn to build a normal life. But first they must deal with the material demands. Ryu has never had to fend for himself for any extended period of time, and certainly not to care for another person simultaneously. Adult or not, his father has been locked away for years; he cannot just take back his role seamlessly. Ryu learns to worry about expenses, supplies and accommodations the hard way. His friends and their families offer help, to be sure, but there is only so much the Amakusas will accept.
They have had a rough time of it; weeks when Ryu can barely make ends meet. Then gradually things start to shape up. It is still a little too much like tight-rope walking for Ryu's liking, but every time he looks at his father, he reminds himself that it is all worthy. Because now he is truly alive.
It does not mean Ryu do not miss the seemingly inexhaustible resources of Pluto, though. He is a pragmatic boy.
