Swept up in his dark charm, Bellatrix just couldn't resist him. Softly his lips swept off hers, making her heart leap and beat faster.

He sat back in his chair, clearly shaken by the unexpected attraction he had just felt towards her.

"Severus…" she whispered. He blinked. She had only ever called him Snape and used a voice filled with contempt towards him.

He then looked away, embarrassed by the encounter. He had only invited her around to discuss the death of Lucius Malfoy and the potential problems that it could cause for the Death Eaters.

Bellatrix's expression changed suddenly.

"You think that you can sweeten me up! Get on my good side to get a bit closer to the Dark Lord! Think again, Snape!"

Bellatrix's voice returned to its usual tone, although her heart felt something different.

"Bella, no! I've truly fallen for you. You must believe me!"

"Oh don't get soppy!" she remarked cruelly. She left Snape's house.

As she stood outside in the pouring rain, in immediate regret, her eyes filled with tears. She felt so much love for this man, yet there was still so much distrust there too. She touched her lips, brushing her fingers along them, imagining his lips…

She felt a hand on her shoulder. She pulled out her wand in an instant and turned around, with tears still dripping down her long, pale face.

"Oh, don't get soppy on me." Snape said softly, wiping one of her tears away with his thumb. He leaned in towards her and she gave in. Their lips touched once again, this time in a passionate embrace. Bellatrix clung to the back of his head, moving her fingers through his hair and down his neck. Snape had his hands on her face, stroking it. Any fears for the Death Eaters had been temporarily vanquished. If Harry Potter had walked up to them at this moment, Snape would have smiled and welcomed him with a hug!

After several moments they withdrew from each other. There was an essence of fear in the air. They both knew that the Dark Lord would highly disapprove of what was happening between them.

"I…I can't do this, Severus," Bellatrix said, drawing a shaky breath and looking him straight in the eye, "The Dark Lord means more to me than this does. She was lying, even to herself. She was only fearful that the Dark Lord would find out and punish Snape. She didn't care all that much about herself.

She ran off. Snape watched her reach the top of the hill and then Disapparate. He turned and strode back into his house, feeling humiliated.
