Well that can't be good.

Chelsea sat at her regular lunch table but didn't eat because she was watching Nicole verbally abuse Spencer. Nicole was slightly into Spencer's space, and Spencer took a small step back and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Nicole, let's go." Tre put his arm around Nicole's shoulders and steered her to the parking lot. Spencer turned, oddly embarrassed at not only having been bitched at but also at being rudely disrupted during the bitching Chelsea didn't bother to pretend she wasn't staring and shot her a sympathetic look as Spencer sat down.

"Nicole's a bitch and Tre's a tool." Spencer nodded and bit into her green apple. Getting nothing else, Chelsea asked if she wanted to talk about it. Spencer said no, it's the same stuff about her needing to get her shit together and practice more because she's making them look bad. "Maybe I'll try out for track or something in the spring." Chelsea nodded.

"So did you get everything set up last night? 'Cause I'd still be happy to come down to the gallery and help out." Chelsea smiled back and Spencer, glad that Nicole didn't change Spencer's mind about skipping practice that afternoon. "Yeah, you should come down. I only have a few more pieces to move in there but you know Clay's such a perfectionist about everything that he can't really help much."

Chelsea noticed Spencer was noticing Ashley Davies again, which wasn't a problem except that Spencer never wanted to talk about it. Chelsea tried anyway. "I heard her yesterday in the office. She's transferring into your lit class, huh?" Spencer said she was and continued staring at Ashley's back. Chelsea rolled her eyes slightly. It was like pulling teeth from someone who didn't even notice you had their mouth open.

"So will your mom be okay with you switching to track? I know she's into you doing the cheerleading thing." Spencer finally turned back to Chelsea and not coincidently sighed. "Yeah, I don't actually like to run." Chelsea said she knew that. "Right, so I guess it's the least crappy of our sports that also has a lot of involved parents. That'll make her happy." Chelsea said to look on the bright side, that she would only have to do track for a couple of seasons before she graduated. Spencer have her a half smile and started digging into her salad.
