We were living two worlds apart and it seemed as if our lives were bound to never coexist. As time passed, I started to believe you lacked an understanding of boundaries and the fact that sometimes impossible is absolute.

"Can't we just take a chance?"

You failed to comprehend that the desires of your heart can never fracture the laws and morals of our world. Our loyalties made us who we are, as different as night and day; when one reigned, the other must stay in submission until its time arrives.

"Were I any other person…"

We are trained to oppose each other at first sight, no questions asked. As long as your kind - the filth of the sea - exists, we - the upholders of whatever justice was left of humanity - must do everything within our power to ensure your destruction.

"If I asked,"

The moment we decided to reach for our dreams, we surrendered our lives and our souls to them. The pride we hold keeps us from what we want the most and just as we had relinquished our bodies for what we believed in, we are both better off forsaking our hearts; the only thing keeping us human.

"Would you give up everything for me?"

Because sometimes, for a fleeting moment, I would regret everything I have ever said and done. And sometimes, I would wish that was all it took to make you come back as if I never walked away.
