Damon, Elena, and hot cocoa.
A/N. I do not own Vampire Diaries, or the charactors.
Rating; T for launguage.
Summary; Damon and Elena have a heartfelt talk while drinking cocoa. I suck at explaining this, it's much more intresting when you read it.
Elena awoke in Stefan's arms. She wiggled her way out of them and made her way downstairs, her throat suddenly becoming dry. She made her way into the kitchen, searching for a packet of Hot Cocoa, she found what she was looking for. She turned around and jumped, finding Damon in the way of the microwave.
Elena groaned. ''What are you doing up?'' Elena mumbled, half-asleep.
She must have had bed hair, because Damon looked as if he could burst out laughing any minute now. ''It's not like I need to sleep very long, sleep get's boring after a while.'' He said.
Elena grabbed a mug from the cabinet. ''Sleep get's boring?'' Elena questioned. Guess it was different for vampires humans.
Damon smirked as he noticed that Elena was struggling with opening the packet, he swiftly took it from her hand and ripped it open, then gave it back to her in no time. ''Thanks,'' She mumbled, nervously tucking her hair behind her ear. Damon noticed her different behavior for a while now.
''You OK, Elena?'' Damon asked.
Elena looked up from what she was doing. ''What? No, yeah. Totally.'' Elena assured him. But he was unconvinced.
''OK, I did not just hear you use the word ''totally''.'' Damon said, folding his arms over his chest. Elena sipped her Cocoa, avoiding his gaze. ''What's wrong?'' He asked once more.
Elena walked into the living room and moved to sit on the couch. Damon moved to sit at the end of the couch. After a long time of silence, Elena spoke. ''I'm worried,'' She said, simply. Damon cocked his head to one side.
Elena explained. ''I'm worried about everyone. You guys are all going to risk your lives for me, and I honestly don't think I deserve it.'' Elena said. He knew what she was talking about now; The Klaus Situation.
Damon moved closer to her, and took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. ''You do, Elena. It's you we're talking about here.'' He said, giving her a smirk.
Elena half-smiled. ''Yeah, but. If I die, it will be just me. But if all of you die.'' Elena stopped mid sentence, her voice wavering. ''I just can't handle it.''
Elena cleared her throat and her voice sounded normal again. ''I don't feel sorry for myself, and I don't expect any of you too. But sometimes, I just think life would have been easier if my parents hadn't died.'' Elena admitted. She kept her eyes on the ground as she spoke.
''Is it crazy to say ''After all we've been thruh, I don't regret meeting either of you.''?'' Elena questioned.
Damon smirked. ''It's entirely crazy,'' Damon said. ''We are probably the reason why your life has been hell. Why Klaus is coming after you.'' Damon said.
Elena sighed. ''No, I think that sooner or later Klaus would have came after me.'' She said. ''But I just wonder, what if my parents never died? Where would we be right now? Would you have an all you can eat bar in Mystic Fall's? Would Stefan brood more?'' Elena questioned.
Damon laughed. ''Impossible,'' He said.
Elena smiled. ''Yeah, well thanks for listening, Damon.'' Elena said, as she walked upstairs.
He smirked and stared into the fire. He noticed Elena's empty mug on the coffee table. ''And she still had time to finish her Cocoa.''
