Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I posted anything, and this little one-shot is meant to be something fluffy to get my L/J juices flowing again. Just a little set-up for this - They are sharing a Heads' Dorm (like in my longer story Unforgettable) but they are not yet boyfriend/girlfriend.

Disclaimer: Honestly the fact that we even have to do these is getting annoying. JKR has better things to do than post here. So, obviously, I'm not her. Nor am I making any sort of money off of her characters.

I hope you all enjoy!

Stealth was key.

And so the plan had been designed with a high quotient of stealth in mind. Because she would attain her goal. Failure was simply not an option.

Carefully, she poked her head around the corner of her staircase. Having heard the door to the Heads' Dorm swing shut a moment earlier, Lily was fairly confident that James was no longer here. Especially as it was a full moon.

Just as she had expected, there was no James in their common room. Excellent. Because if he had caught her, she feared that her face would permanently match her hair.

Skipping the bottom step that squeaked, Lily sprinted across the common room and up onto the first step of James's stairs. From there it was easy to sprint into his room, find the shirt in his bottom drawer, and sprint back to her own room.

She grinned as she realized that success was hers.

Sighing in relief, Lily pulled the jersey up to her nose to savor the scent that had intoxicated her for the past month. After allowing herself that moment, she pulled off her own nightgown and slipped into her new favorite sleep shirt. Then she cuddled up happily with a book, secure in the knowledge that the Head Boy wouldn't be back until the wee hours of the morning.

So it was unexpected to hear the door open again only ten minutes later.

Thinking it was Alice coming to gush about her latest date with Frank, She slipped down the stairs to say hello.

"Oh! I thought you were gone for the night, Potter."

"Yeah, just came back for...what have you been up to?"

"Up to? I've been reading."

He smirked. "Uh-huh. Reading."

She looked at him quizzically. "Yes?"

That insufferable smirk only grew. "Right, well, I just came back for my heavy cloak," he said, moving to where he had left it on the couch. And happened to be right next to where she was standing. She could smell him even from a foot away, a heavenly combination of woods, soap, and fresh sweat. It was a million times stronger than the shirt she had knicked, and now he was leaning down closer to her, and she was beginning to get a bit lightheaded.

Not that she would ever let it show, of course.

James leaned in close to her ear, making her breath hitch. "By the way, you could have just asked."

"Asked?" Her voice came out much squeakier than she would have liked, but the confusion was still evident.

His eyes flickered down her body, and she realized suddenly that she had rushed down in his shirt.

His shirt.

That she had planned meticulously to be sure that he never knew she took.

How could she have been so daft?

He chuckled at her audible gulp, and two fingers gently pushed her jaw back up. "Don't worry love, it looks much better on you than it ever did on me."

And with a wink, he was out the door again.

Lily sank into the couch that was, gratefully, right behind her. Because she didn't think her wobbly legs could make it back up the stairs to her bed.

Well, so much for stealth.
