Buffy Summers stood nervously as she answered a posed for another round of photographs and finished a quick interview session. She almost felt like she was having an out of body experience all night, especially after winning several awards tonight for the movie which had thrust her into the spotlight.
At nineteen years old and as a girl from a nowhere town in California it was all very surreal. It had been a last minute dare with one of her best friends to even go to the audition and it had changed her entire life when she had won the role. There had already been a lot of buzz about the movie trilogy given it was based off a best-selling novel series and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce had been making his directorial debut but then there was her and other actors and actresses who became attached, first looks and sneak peaks, the movie was released and became a smash. Her life had certainly taken one giant turn through it all.
Buffy felt nothing short of star-struck around all the famous faces, she'd about had probably a dozen heart attacks since arriving with seeing some of her idols, even talking to some or getting pictures with them, some even having come up to her to congratulate her on her wins. It was insane!
Buffy was searching for her dates this evening - her family, when she breathed a sigh of relief having at least spotted familiar faces of her fellow cast mates. "Faith!" she yelled out once closer.
Faith turned around and smiled brightly at her friend. "B! I was just about to send a search party for you."
The girls chatted and did a few quick interviews together as they walked around. Faith went to go find them something to eat and Buffy found herself alone... but not for long. She was about to start wandering around a little more when she almost bumped into someone upon turning around. Her eyes looked up and Buffy felt her mouth suddenly go dry and her legs shake. "H-hi," she stammered out. "I'm s-so sorry." Buffy could feel her cheeks starting to burn.
"Not at all," Angel O'Connor replied easily. "Congratulations on your wins tonight, they were all very well deserved."
Buffy found her mind blanking for a moment. Angel O'Connor was one of television's biggest stars, a happy resident on the eligible bachelor list, and happen to be her biggest crush on the planet. Buffy found herself nearly giggling uncontrollably. "T-thank you. Y-you're show is great. You-you're great."
He smiled and Buffy felt very warm. "My sister is a huge fan, she wouldn't stop talking about you. I'm pretty sure she watched your movie thirteen times by now. I only recently had a chance to catch it."
"Oh," Buffy breathed out.
"I had to watch it twice, though. The first time I had a hard time paying attention because I kept staring at you."
Buffy started back up with the giggling fit and wanted to bang her head into a wall for it. "B!" she suddenly heart Faith's voice and said a silent thank you to the heavens. "I leave you alone for two minutes and you're already shacking up with your Hollywood crush?"
'Scratch that,' Buffy groaned in her head and felt her face heat up ten fold.
"Buffy's a huge fan," Faith continued. She obviously picked up on the blonde's state of embarrassment but continued on with a huge smile on her face. "We do watch parties of that cop drama show you do, she has a poster of you in a dressing trailer..."
"Oookay," Buffy cut in. "It was very very nice to meet you," she said toward Angel, refusing to look him in the eye. "We have to go now," she said, grabbing Faith's arm, "Far, far away. Bye now!"
Buffy could hear his chuckling follow the two of them as she dragged Faith away. "Hope to see you ladies again soon."
The End.
