Alanna would have loved to keep it secret from George that she had begun sleeping with Jon. After all, she knew full well that George harbored feelings for her-why hurt him? The other part of her mind said George hadn't asked her for anything, that she had no obligation to him. Either way, Alanna decided, what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. She hadn't thought about how he would feel when he found out from someone else. Nor had she taken into account Jon's tendency to boast…Hindsight is twenty-twenty, but she would have expected Jon to keep it their secret.
