A/N: Heya! I haven't updated in awhile, so I'm putting this back up with a few edits. This was the first thing I posted on Fanfiction, and it got decent feedback. I may do a sequel if, by my birthday (January), enough people request it.
Enjoy- in Marshall Lee's POV.

9:30 p.m
"Get out! We're over!"
I jump. I can hear Fionna from here. Then again, I have heightened senses, and we don't live too far away. I quickly pick up the gist of the argument.
"I can explain," Ignotus, aka Flame Prince, begs.
"Oh?" Fionna laughs darkly. "Save your explanations for your little fire whore, you lying bastard. Get out of my house. Now!"
I hear a slamming door.
Two minutes later, my phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Marshall." She sounds wrecked.
"Fionna! Are you okay?"
A sigh. "You heard that, huh?"
"Yeah… Do you want me to come over?"
"Yes, please. I need a friend." A quiet sniffle.
"I'll be over in a sec, alright?"
"Bye, Marshall."
She hangs up, and my dead heart aches with the sound of her pain. Anger crackles in my stomach, and I grab my bass, a few apples, and a bottle of cold chocolate milk for Fionna.

I let myself into my former home. I hear crying from the front room.
I follow the sound, and I would have been knocked over by the force of her hug if I couldn't float.
She soaks my chest with heartbroken tears in a second. I rub her back soothingly, and she wails, gripping my shirt tightly.
I float over to the couch- her weight is no burden.
Her grief is spilt into three distinct stages. An hour of sobbing, twenty minutes of hysteria, and more than five hours of hiccups, drinking chocolate milk, and refusing to sleep- or move from her fetal position on my lap.

There is a knock on the door.
Fionna jolts awake. She had drifted off about four in the morning. I shift her from my lap, and go to answer the door.
"Marshall Lee?"
Cake stares at me.
"What in Aaa are you doing here?" She asked, pushing past me.
"Fionna needed comfort. FP cheated on her, and I heard it from my place... so she invited me over," I explained.
"Oh, poor baby!" She ran to where Fionna was shaking on the couch.
She smiled weakly as I made my way out.
She hadn't asked for a kiss or any other physical comfort besides a hug.
Oh well. Maybe next time.
A vampire in love could only hope.

A/N: Hmm. Not my favourite, but meh. Something to post so I don't feel lazy. See ya later!
