September 1st, 1998.
"Hermione, do you really have to go back to Hogwarts this year? Harry and I aren't going back, you don't need to." Ron asked Hermione, his new girlfriend whilst walking to platform 9 and 3/4 with Harry, Ginny and his parents.
"I'm sorry Ron, but I need to be a NEWT level student if I want to make a name for myself."
"Hermione: you helped defeat Voldemort, I think you already have made a name for yourself." Ron rebuttled. They had just reached the platform.
"I'm sorry, but I have to." Hermione said and kissed him softly. After they pulled away, Ron looked around. "Where'd Harry and Ginny go?" he asked, turning his head confusedly.
"They're probably just saying goodbye. You know how much the press follow Harry around, they probably don't want a picture of that moment."

"I'm going to miss you so much." Harry said, holding his girlfriend's hand.
"I'll miss you too. I'm gonna write all the time about how weird it is with the castle different and you know, the lack of students." Ginny said, pushing her hair out of her face.
"I got you a present so we won't have to wait for the owls to come to communicate. It's a two way diary, so when one of us writes it shows up in the other's notebook." He handed her the leather paper. She took it and sighed. She put her hands around him.
"I don't want to say good-bye. Last night was just perfect, I can't imagine not seeing you."
"Me too, but I will come to one of your quidditch games. Promise." He kissed her, and it was the perfect moment. They broke apart, but Ginny's hands were still around his neck.
"I love you," she said. Harry's eyes opened wide and his mouth opened but all of the sudden Ron walked in front of them. He looked and him and made a strange face.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Were just saying good-bye Ron, go away." Ginny said harshly, anxious to know Harry's answer. Ron hastily walked away.
"Where were we?" Ginny asked.
"I love you too." Harry said before she could add anything else. Ginny kissed him again, sliding her hands down to his and squeezing them. They broke apart and walked back to the Weasleys. The train then sounded, so Ginny had to leave. Ginny and Hermione said goodbye to everyone and soon Ginny came back to Harry.
"Bye," she said. "I'll miss you."
"Bye." he said. She squeezed his hand again and then walked onto the train. As the train left, Hermione and Ginny waved goodbye, Ginny occasionally making funny faces to Harry. Harry smiled as he waved goodbye, and then frowned.
"You ok, mate?" Ron asked.
"Yeah, I just love 'er and don't want her to leave." Instead of responding by yelling at him for loving his sister and not messing her up, Ron responded,
"Me too, mate, me too."
