I don't own HP. Duh.

Okay, I don't usually ship Lily/Sev, but I love the young love angle, and this just...came to me a while ago. It's just so sweet...poor Snape.

Rain pummeled the black lake beside Hogwarts School, turning it into a churning boiling mass of black water.

At one of the high windows, a single figure stood, staring out at the storm.

"Sev?" the voice, soft and gentle, made the lone figure staring out the window twitch, but he didn't turn. "Sev?" Lily repeated, brushing back a strand of dark red hair and taking a step closer too him. "You okay?"

One of his shoulders rose and fell in a half-hearted shrug, causing his slighly long, straight black hair to sway a little with the movement.

"What's wrong?" the Lily moved closer, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm fine." he muttered without conviction. She didn't believe him.

"You can tell me, Sev." she murmured. He stifled a sigh. How could he tell her that it had upset him to see her sitting with Potter and his cronies, laughing and having a good time? How could he tell her that her happiness with them was what had caused him to retreat to this usually deserted corridor?

When he didn't answer her, Lily sighed, dropped her hand from his shoulder, and wrapped her arms around his waist instead, resting her cheek against his back. For a moment, Severus stiffened, but it only lasted a second before he relaxed again, basking in the warmth of Lily's embrace.

"M'sorry." he mumbled.

"For what?" she asked softly.

For being jealous. He shrugged again. He couldn't tell her that.

"'S okay." she murmured, even though he hadn't answered her question. Either of her questions.

Silence fell between them as Severus returned to staring out the window with Lily's arms around his waist and her head resting between his shoulder blades. He gave a quiet sigh, wishing that he could just stay right there in her arms. That this moment would freeze and never end. Never end...
