"White Onyx"
Ran rolled over, at first not sure where he was. It felt strangely familiar and at the same time very alien. As his mind began to focus, he realized there was a warm body curled against him.
Bombay.
They had never just laid in this bed. Bombay would slip in, let Ran have his was with him, then stagger back out. The feel of the smaller assassin with him in this bed was not unfamiliar. What was strange was the way they just slept together. There was no sex, there didn't need to be, and there was no running off before dawn to save Omi the pain of sleeping with the cold-hearted redhead.
In Dreams.
Even as he laid there wrapped around Bombay, Ran's thoughts turned to the room up the hall. Youji... and Eden. Ran sighed heavily. Both of them still held his heart tightly, but Ran needed to let it go. Even days spent with Eden could not reconcile the rivalry that still hung between them from their first meeting. Blissful hours spent with Youji could not remove the hurt he had caused, especially due to his actions recently.
Heartbreaker.
Schuldig had taught him that. It was only after Ran was coming into mental powers that the damage had gotten too bad to be repaired. Maybe being telepathic did that, made you arrogant. Ran was becoming everything he'd always hated about Schuldig... Schu as Schwarz anyway. Ran didn't like the look that Youji gave him when he communicated telepathically. Distrust, fear. Ran didn't want Youji to feel that way about him. He didn't want to be thought of as a brutalizer, not and remain a leader.
Hate.
Back to Schuldig. Always back to Schuldig. The man that both infuriated and impassioned him. In his mind, they'd gotten so close. But in reality, they were tearing each other apart. So much Ran wanted to be with him, but it already ate at his mind sharing Bombay....
Decisions.
As he lay there, Ran made a decision. Only when absolutely necessary would he use his powers. Never again with Youji unless he called, and even then, only with much caution. He would fight to remain who he was. Whether he loved the boy and the redhead or not....
Weiss.
"Weiss is the dream." Ran hadn't been sure what he meant when he said it. Now he knew. Weiss wasn't just the team. Not just the missions. It was his life.
