"What a great book." Jason thought to himself as he looked at the cover of his favorite Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He had read the book seven times already and had just finished reading it for the eighth. He had seen the movie countless times, but he thought the book was much better. "I wish I had magical powers." He said aloud to himself, thinking of what was coming up in the next few days.

Jason, a ten-year-old blond haired boy, was sick again. He was always sick. He was getting better, which meant they could operate. He was scared. It was a fairly common procedure, but still, he was scared.

"Its just tonsillitis." He had said to his mother earlier that day while lying in the hospital bed in that gray hospital room. Usually, this was an outpatient procedure, but Jason had such a bad bout of tonsillitis that they wanted to watch him before and after the surgery.

"Honey, tonsillitis is nothing to play with. You get that every year and this year you've had it three times already."
"I'll get better!" He promised. He wanted to get better. He wanted to get out of the hospital before the new day came.

"I know you want to, but you'll just get sick it again. Getting your tonsils out will help a lot. A lot of people have this operation. You'll be fine."

Jason closed his eyes, thinking of what his mom had said to him earlier.

"A lot of people have this operation. You'll be fine." He tried to calm himself down, but he could not do it. He opened his eyes when he heard the creaking of someone opening the door to his room.

"Hey, buddy, how yaw doin'?" Seth, his sixteen-year-old brother, walked into the room. "I wanted to stop by before your surgery. You're going under the knife while I'm in school tomorrow."

"Take me home with you!" Jason begged.

"I wish I could, but you need to be here."

"I don't want to." Jason's eyes filled with tears. Not wanting to cry, he tried to stop them from overflowing.

"I know you're scared." Seth sat down in one of the uncomfortable chairs in the room. "Oh, you're reading Harry Potter again."

"Oh, yeah, it's my favorite story." Jason's eyes lit up at the mention of his favorite young hero.

"Remember when we saw it in the theaters?" Seth had taken Jason to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when it debuted in theaters in November of 2005.

"Yeah, that was fun. Can we do it again when the new one comes out?"

"Sure, buddy." Seth promised, looking at his watch. "It's late. I have to go home now and you need your rest. Be brave!"

"I-I…" Jason started. "I can't be brave."

"Yes, you can. Just think of Harry fighting Voldermort. He was brave then. You can be brave now." Seth stood up to leave. "I love you, Jason."

As Seth left the room, Jason closed his eyes, thinking of the times Harry had to fight He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named.
