"Have you ever done a homestay, Athrun?"
"Sure I have. Loads of times. For example, right now I'm staying at Cagalli's house."
"Um, that's waaaay different," Kira replied. "Not what I was talking about."
"Hey Athrun, remember that one time, on the moon, when we found that old shack and were going to turn it into a fort?"
"Err..." Athrun thought for a long time. "No."
"It was behind the grocery store, by the pet shop."
"I thought you couldn't have a pet on the moon."
"That's PLANT. But it was cool because the door was boarded up but we could go in through the window because we were small enough."
"I had a dog in PLANT..." Athrun went on, seeming completely as if he had not heard Kira's voice at all.
"That was a robot dog," Kira explained. "But don't you remember the shack?" he asked hopefully.
"No." Athrun said, and then paused. Kira saw a sudden flash of memory in his friend's eyes.
"Wait! You're right!" Athrun turned to Kira.
"It was a robot dog!"
"Um, Kira?" Athrun asked. "Does staying at your home count as a homestay?"
"No."
"What about Yzak's house?"
"No."
"Dearka's hou—"
"No."
"Oh."
Pause.
"What about Sophie's house?"
Kira looked slightly alarmed, his thoughts immediately going toward his one and only sister's temperament and her feelings towards Athrun. "Who's that?" he asked, deciding it was his duty to find out.
"Oh, this French girl. I went and stayed at her house for like, three weeks just before I went to ZAFT Academy. Some kind of cultural exchange, they told me."
Kira just shook his head in disbelief.
"Really?" Athrun asked, mistaking his friend's gesture. "I thought for sure it'd count..."
