This is based on one theory that makes sense, Spoilers for the end of the game, anyways, lets carry on.

3RD Person: When the bells began ringing people stopped fighting, all the cliques looked to the source of the sound. The sight they all saw shocked them. Jimmy Hopkins, the (former) King of The School and the local crazy kid and now, Head of Bullworth Academy Gary Smith fighting on the roof of the school. Some of the snobby, rich kids were egging them both on, while the non-clique members of the school were concerned for their safety, namely Pete Kowalski. Before anything else happened, Pete knew what would happen, no matter how badly he wanted to fool himself otherwise. The Greasers were confused of why Gary was fighting Hopkins, and Edgar looked like his head might explode. Then there were the Prefects, they were all shouting different types of punishments, all knowing they were absolutely useless. Then it happened, Gary got into Jimmy's face, causing Jimmy to push back, ultimately he pushed Gary off the edge. Pete closed his eyes in horror, he already felt a tear fall, time went slow from then on, and for the first time, Jimmy and Gary seemed unsure of what they had done. Then, it vanished, only to be replaced with pure fear, something neither boy had been known to show. Then they had gone, slowly past the scaffolding, and then they began the collision course towards the ground. Just 3 seconds later there was a sickening crunch sound, then there was silence, almost peaceful, had there not been 2 children dead on the ground. Pete opened his eyes, tears were streaming down his cheeks, and when he saw both bodies, lifeless, limp, Pete just couldn't take it and he passed out.

Pete woke up in his dorm, confused about what happened, he got up and walked down the hall and walked to the open door. At first he was confused to see Jimmy wasn't there, or in the dorm at all, then it all hit him like a ton of bricks. Pete held his head, knowing it was doing nothing, he left immediately, not wanting to be in there anymore. He began to notice a severe lack of students, he walked around and noticed everyone was gathered around something, next to the stair case. Pete had a bad feeling as he got closer, he gently pushed people aside and saw a kind of shrine, in remembrance of Jimmy. It was weird though, Pete didn't feel as sad as he felt he should have, that itself made him feel even worse. Why didn't he feel sad like everyone else? Was it because Jimmy bullied him mercilessly? Because they weren't really friends? Or maybe it was because Pete was just a terrible human being, either way it was eating at him more than the deaths themselves.
