Heaven
He runs and runs
Arm hanging limply at his side
Sunset shining on his bloody form
At his side I slowly glide
-o-
His eyes filled with desperation
Rusty orbs fearing death
He stumbles, wincing painfully
Drawing in a ragged breath
-o-
For once I see not
The self assured pride in his eyes
I see a desperate, hurting man
Not any of the twisted lies
-o-
He lies down on the cold stone steps
Warm sun like golden rain
And he lies there broken
Chest barely moving from the pain
-o-
I sit down next to him
Gazing at his frantic eyes
He refuses to realize
That this is the day that he dies
-o-
My hand cups his blood stained face
As he fights to stay alive
His dream is finally dying
The dream that could never survive
-o-
I know he cannot feel my touch
For I am just a ghost
Watching, just watching
The death of the one I love most
-o-
We were always enemies
One would win, the other die
Fate is cruel mistress
Because in the end here we both lie
-o-
Dying on the ground
Life slipping away
Knowing in those last few moments
Our goals left in disarray
-o-
His eyes go wide
Heart suddenly ceases to beat
And I know this is the end
Kira's defeat
-o-
Where he is bound I know not
Neither heaven nor hell will he be
Instead a painful and empty limbo
Nothingness for eternity
-o-
And as I glance one more
Upon his beautiful face
For even in death
It holds such perfect grace
-o-
Floating upward to the heavens
Head pointed towards the sky
I wish I could see him just once more
Just one goodbye
-o-
I approach the golden gates
Heaven or so they say
But to me it will never be
Heaven while Light's away
