Migraine by Eve-the-Charlotte
This is the 5th in my X-Men Evo series. I like Lance, I really do, but no pairings in this one.
Lance sat in a bar, which almost seemed commonplace nowadays. Lance Dominic Alvers sitting in a bar, trying to use booze to wipe the slate of his memories clean, memories of past lovers, of his powers, of the dreaded M-Day, the effing thing that took it all away. He could still feel the earth shifting beneath his feet, completely under his control. He could feel the tremors up his body as he brought down buildings. He could practically taste the power of bringing entire governments down to their knees with one great shift of earth.
He set his glass down as he rubbed his temple, wishing he had the money to buy aspirin for his hangover instead of beer. Yet, as more time passed, the more the headache grew, until he could barely hear, less see, what was going on around him. He could only feel the earth beneath, for it seemed that he had fallen off his barstool from pain that kept him from being upright. He could feel the earth rumble, tremors spreading up his body, then the sound of the building coming down on top of him.
Lance Alvers blinked, staring up at the sky, surrounded by rubble, his migraine gone. He burst out laughing, nearly hysterical with joy. Avalanche was back!
That turned out totally different than I intended. Whatever, read and review, before Avalanche comes after you! Hey, that rhymed!
