everything we are is fragile
There will be fighting soon.
Sansa knows this; the entire city knows this. The truth of it is unavoidable - Stannis Baratheon is nearing.
She goes to the godswood to pray though she does not know what for - will Stannis treat her kindly, let her return home should he win? Or will he keep her prisoner to make Robb loyal?
She only wants to go home. Terror has gripped her insides tightly for so long, she does not remember what it is like to not ache with fear.
He is waiting when she leaves - a looming shadow that stares at her in a way that makes her tummy twist. He does not speak to her (has hardly spoken a word to her since he urged her to tell the queen before another whispered her attempts to hide the blood).
They walk together in silence; her cheeks burn red, but she is happy for his escort all the same. She does not tell him she fears for him.
He will fight when the time comes.
Sansa does not tell him she said a prayer for him (for more reason than her fear of what will come should Stannis lose).
