Yuki is three years old
"Juri, can you get the phone darling. I am watching Yuki now", asked Haruka.
"Sure Onii Sama" said Juri who was preparing dinner for Yuki since Kaname was playing with Takuma.
She picked up the phone, "Hello? Mrs. Kuran speaking."
"Hello Mrs. Kuran this is the local hospital. We have a ten year old child here named Maiha Yamamoto. The police found her at the crime scene of her parents, they were murdered. No one knows how they died except by extreme blood loss. The poor girl is completely frightened, she will not speak to anyone, and she is crying and shaking uncontrollably. The one time one of the doctors tried to examine her with a light in her eyes she started screaming, "Mommy and Daddy won't wake up!", and then ran under the table. It took two hours just to coax her out. We looked at her charts and she has no family members to go with and the parents said if anything ever happened to them to put their daughter under your care. If you and your husband could please come down here so we can put the poor girl under some care. It is your decision if the child will live with your family or not but if she does not live with your family then she will be put in an orphanage. Please come as soon as you can." The line then went dead.
Juri hung up the phone and then started to shake uncontrollably while tears dripped down her face. "Haruo. Megumi."
Haruka, smelling the tears, walked into the basement kitchen with Yuki on his hip. "Juri, what's wrong?" he asked in concern.
"Haruo and Megumi Yamamoto, our human friends that knew we are vampires and accepted that we wanted to create peace and was trying to help us, they were found murdered with Maiha at the scene. She has no family and her parents wanted us to take care of her." Said Juri as she started to cry more while Haruka put Yuki down and hugged his sister and wife.
"Oka Sama. Don't be sad" said Yuki while she hugged her mother's leg.
Juri and Haruka looked down at their baby girl and smiled since one smile from Yuki can make even the most grave of situations happy.
"I'm home" said Kaname as he walked into the basement and then stopped what he was doing when he realized his mother was crying.
"Oka Sama, what is wrong?" instantly thinking something was wrong with Yuki.
Juri and Haruka both smiled at Kaname, "Nothing is wrong with Yuki but you and Yuki are going to have a sister".
Kaname, confused, said "What?"
Haruka said, "Our human friends, the Yamamoto's, were murdered and left ten year old Maiha in our care.", he said in a depressed tone.
"Kaname can you take care of Yuki, while we go pick up Maiha?" asked Juri.
Kaname nodded, "Of course Oka Sama"
Haruka and Juri then walked out the door to pick up their new daughter.
