Azazeal stands in the shadows as he watches Cassie and Thelma say their final goodbyes. He got the amulet he needs, but he also gets to see her one last time before she crosses over.
He knows Cassie will tell or do something for Thelma. That's her nature. But he still lets them talk. He doesn't want her to leave him. He needs her just as much as Malachi does.
He wipes away a tear as he watches their final embrace. He wishes it were him that was getting the loving embrace. But that would never be.
Within a blink of an eye, she was gone. Gone forever. He knew what his next plan would be. He was going after Elle. One last time. She was the reason his Cassie was dead. Dead forever.
