Katniss POV
I desperately need to get out of this place.
I need to get away from him.
I don't know what goes through his mind when he hits me.
My husband, a man who I thought I loved hits me.
Do I make him angry?
It doesn't even matter now because I'm leaving him, I'm leaving Gale Hawthorne.
I know there's one person I can call that'll help me.
My best friend, Petta Mellark, was the kindest person you'd ever meet.
So I picked up the phone and called him and explained that they need to get out of town.
He didn't question me, but I knew he'd want to know everything.
I stared to pack anything and everything, since we didn't know where we were going I packed for any type of situation.
Peeta POV
After I got the call from Katniss I started to randomly pack for anything.
I just kept think what could possibly be so bad that she would want to get out of town with me and not her own husband.
Maybe she just misses me.
What ever it is I'm always going to be there for even if she's not mine.
I've been in love with Katniss since the first day I met her in Mrs. Trinket's 3rd grade class.
Even though she was tougher than most of the boys in our class I saw her soft side, but my feeling don't even matter because she's married to the love of her life or so I thought.
As soon as I finished packing, I put my bags in my car and drove off.
Katniss POV
I know I've been planning this for a while now, but I'm still scared of how Gale will react to divorce papers and me gone.
I honestly don't even care anymore.
For all the hell he put me through, he deserves this.
I'm just pacing through my house because I know I've forgot something I just cant put my finger on.
Then it hits me as I'm tapping the counter where I've carefully placed the divorce papers with my signature on it.
Soon I will be Katniss Everdeen once more.
My rings, I can't leave him with these still on my finger.
So I take them off carefully and place them on the papers with careful instruction on where to send them to.
I just hope he takes this lightly.
All of the sudden I hear a car horn, and I know it must be Petta.
I grab my stuff and head out.
Before waking over to his car I survey the area to make sure none of the nosey neighbors don't see anything.
After making sure the area was clear I threw my stuff in his trunk and hopped in.
Peeta POV
We were just driving in silence for miles on the back roads of our little town.
I couldn't stand not knowing what was going on so I came to an immediate stop.
Katniss then yelled "Petta what the hell are doing?" "You need to tell me why we're here and why you need to get out of town." I said.
Then after a few moment of silence she broke down in tears.
She began to say through her tears, "It all started about a year came home from the bar with his buddies completely wasted and I just kept asking him how much he drank and why he was so late. Then he just flipped and smacked me across the face, and after that he couldn't stop, every time he got mad at me he just hit me without showing any kind of remorse what so ever" My face began to get hot and I swear steam was coming out of my ears as I said "I'll kill him!" "NO! Please! I love you too much to let you get hurt. He may be as evil as our 6th grade English teacher, but I don't want to loose you to."
She said with a worried look on her face.
"Fine but we need somewhere to go, so you'll be far away from that insane monster." I said.
We just sat there in my car trying to think of a place far enough away from him that both of us wont get hurt.
Then it came to me.
"I've got it, we can stay at my parents old cabin that they left me.
I haven't used it in a while ad its up in the mountains, so Gale can't find it. I said.
