Back In Your Arms

"I love you," I mumbled as I snuggled up closer to him. I was already as close as human possible. He was like that though. He had this bad boy demeanor about him but he was a romantic at heart. It was one of the things I loved about him.

"I love you too, Clare. You know, we don't have to go our separate ways. We made it last your senior year of high school, why couldn't we make it last all of college and the rest of our lives?" I knew he was trying to talk me and him out of this. I didn't blame him, but I also knew we would just end up breaking up sometime in college as well.

We always broke up.

We got back together as well, too, though.

"You know why Eli. It just saves us trouble later on." I had done told him this at least a thousand times.

"Yea, but Clare we were supposed to get through college then get married. Our first child, if it was a girl, was going to be named after you as Clarissa or if it was a boy it was going to be named after me as Elliot. You were going to get your dream wedding, even if it killed me." After his little speech you could see the tears in his eyes. I wanted to cry so badly, but didn't. I knew he hated it when I cried. Especially if it was caused by him.

"Eli I know that, and who knows, it may still end up that way. We may meet years later, and still feel the same and get married and have kids then." He nodded his head and then smiled.

"I will always feel the same for you." He was looking in my eyes as he said this. I smiled the smile that's only for him.

"I will too, Eli." With that we kissed and had one more night of passion just the two of us.

Six years later

I slowly got up and looked at what day it was. I smiled as I remembered it was moving day for me and my daughter. I knew she was excited. She wanted to grow up in the same town as her parents. Mostly she was hoping her dad would be there so she could have him in her life.

"Cassa, baby, it's time to get up," I said softly as I got to her room. She slept just like her father did if no one was in the bed with him. On her stomach hands spread out on each side of her. She was just like Eli's mini only with my eyes. Eli would love that about her.

"Okay Mommy." I looked up when I saw she was a wake then got worried as I saw the tear stains.

"Baby girl, why have you been crying?" I was worried now. She wasn't one to cry that much.

"I just want my Daddy. I want you and Daddy to find each other again and get married and have me a brother or sister." She was in full blown tears now, and there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

"I know sweetie. I wish I could do that for you, but I can't. I don't even know where your Daddy is." I had a sad look on my face thinking about Eli. I wish I could still be in his arms at night.

"You still love Daddy right? You wouldn't have kissed and had me if you didn't love him. You said don't kiss boys unless you love them." I laugh at my little girls' innocent interpretation of sex, but smiled at the fact that she was only five and already listening to what I tell her.

"Yes baby girl, I still love Daddy. I never stopped loving him." She had the biggest smile on her face that I had even seen.

"I hope Daddy still lives there Mommy. I bet he's the best Daddy ever." With that said she got dressed for the day excited to be back in my home town. I shook my head at her eagerness to maybe see her Daddy for the first time.

She knew everything I could possibly tell her about him. She knew his last name, which was the same as her, what he looked like, from pictures I've showed her, and even his first name. She smiled when she realized he was the one who picked out her name. That I had nothing to do with that one. He had picked her first and middle name.

All she wanted was to meet the man who helped me create her.

I was determined to help her with that, even if it was last thing I did.

….

We'd just got to our new house that was in a nice neighborhood. I knew that neighborhood like you wouldn't believe because it was in the place where he used to live. There was a house close to his that we always talked about buying and letting our kids grow up in it. I was going to buy it, but someone else already had. So I went to the next best thing and bought the one next to it.

"Would you like to walk around the neighborhood with me?" I asked Cassa and she smiled and nodded her head.

"Yes, please Mommy." I got her jacket on since it was getting chilly in the afternoons now and grabbed her hand as we walked.

We had been walking around for five minutes when a voice said my name.

"Clarabelle, is that you?" I turned around and saw CeCe and Bullfrog coming our way. I got the biggest smile once I saw them and hugged them.

"How have you guys been? I haven't seen you two in six years." I said and Cassa started hiding behind me. I picked her up and she just laid her head on my shoulder looking at her grandparents. Not that she knew that.

"We've been doing well." CeCe said as she looked at Cassa. Then she gave me a knowing look. "She's his, isn't she?" She asked me and I nodded my head. Cassa gave me a curious look.

"CeCe, Bullfrog, I'd like you to meet Clarissa Nicole Goldsworthy. She's your granddaughter." With that both of them had smiles on their faces. Cassa looked up at me.

"Are they Daddy's parents?" I nodded my head. With that said she struggled to get down. Once she was put down she ran up to both of them and gave them hugs. "Mommy has told me a lot about you guys. She said you were always so nice to her, and that's what she loved about you guys. What do I call you?"

"You can call me Grandpa Bull and she doesn't care what you call her." Bullfrog told Cassa, and she started giggling. She looked over at CeCe.

"I think I'll call you Meme cause your all mine till Mommy and Daddy has me a little brother or sister." CeCe smiled and bent down and gave my little girl a hug. I could tell she was crying.

"That's fine by me. Even when they have more kids, I'll always be yours though." CeCe said and Cassa nodded. "Just know you are the luckiest little girl for who you have for your parents."

"I know that. And I love my Momma and Daddy very much. Maybe one day I can meet Daddy. Momma says he was funny."

"He is very funny. He gets that from me." Bullfrog said and I heard my little girl giggling. That was the best sound in the world.

"How is Eli doing? He's not still upset at me or anything?" I asked finally talking again.

"He's doing as good as he can be. He misses you though. Never stopped loving you. Hasn't even been on a date since you guys broke up." CeCe said and I nodded.

"I think the biggest regret I have is breaking up with him that last time. He's missed the first five years of his daughters' life because of me. I hope I can get him to forgive me." I said and had tears in my eyes. I did miss Eli and you could tell.

"You're here now though and that's all he's going to care about." Bullfrog told me and I smiled a little. "Where are you guys living at?" I told him where and he smiled. "You know, the person you're living next door too really loves it when new neighbors visit. They love little kids. You might want to introduce you and your little girl to them." I nodded my head.

"We may just do that. Well, it was nice seeing you guys again. If you want you two can come get her tomorrow and have her for the day. I'm sure you would love to spend time with your granddaughter."

"Really, Clare?" CeCe asked and I nodded my head. "How does that sound Clarissa? Would you like that?" She asked her and Clarissa just smiled.

"I would love that. I'll see you and Grandpa Bull tomorrow. Bye Meme, I love you guys." She gave each a kiss on the cheek and a hug. They hugged her back and just as we left I was stopped.

"Thank you Clare. You didn't have to let us have her tomorrow, but thank you for giving us a chance to get to know our granddaughter." I smiled at them.

"No thanks necessary. You two have always been like parents to me, and I want her to know who her grandparents are. You two have just as much right to her as my Mom and her husband does." I said with nothing but honesty in my voice. I just got smiles back.

"Eli picked an awesome girl to fall in love with. I mean it too. We'll see you two tomorrow." I smiled a huge smile and nodded giving each a hug.

"Let's go meet the neighbor." Cassa nodded and she knocked on the door. We waited about a minute until someone finally answered the door. "Adam, what are you doing here?"

"I'm visiting a friend. What are you and Clarissa doing here?" He asked me as Clarissa ran and hugged Adam.

"Uncle Adam! I missed you so much. Where's Aunt Becky?" She asked looking at him.

"She's at the house. Again, why are you guys here?" He asked and I sighed.

"Adam, who's at the door?" I knew that voice. It couldn't be. "Would you just let them in?" Adam held the door open for us as we came in.

"Umm, hi Eli." I said once I saw him. He stopped and dropped the little bit of food in his hands. He walked up to me and looked in my eyes.

"It really is you. I'd recognize those blue eyes anywhere." He mumbled as he gave me a hug. It lasted longer than it should've, but I didn't care. I was happy to be back in his arms.

"I've missed you so much," I mumbled in to his ear. He just hugged me tighter. "I've missed being in your arms the most."

"Well they have missed having you there." He told me and I giggled. I looked over at Adam who had Clarissa. "And who is this cute little girl?" Eli asked as he tickled her stomach a little. Clarissa just giggled.

"That tickles! Would you please stop?" Eli stopped and got a good look at her. Then he went pale.

"Clare, how old is she?"

"Five," I mumbled not looking into his eyes.

"She looks almost identical besides the eyes." He said mumbling more to his self than me. "What's her full name?" I took in a big breath.

"Clarissa Nicole Goldsworthy," I said and that's when the pieces clicked for him.

"That's my- my- that's my da- dau- daug-" He couldn't even finish his sentence.

"That's your daughter? Yes she's yours. I've only ever been with you. That's how I wanted it to always be. That's exactly how we talked about it being." I told him and he nodded and then smiled at the little girl.

"We sure do make some pretty little girls, don't we?" He asked and I nodded my head. Adam set her down and slowly left. Eli caught on and nodded his head.

"Mommy, is that my-" I cut her off.

"Yes sweetie, that's your Daddy." I told her and the biggest smile was on her face.

"DADDY!" she screamed and I smiled. Eli caught her as she ran to hug him. "I knew you'd be in this town."

"How did you know that?" Eli asked giving her a look of admiration. I smiled knowing where this is going.

"Mommy said you two were very much in love and never wanted to be a part even after dating for a long time. If you love each other very much, no matter what then you always find your way back to the place where you met. The place you met just happened to be Mommy's home town. My heart just said you'd be here." Eli smiled at the girl in his arms and kissed her head.

"Well, you sure do belong to your Momma because you have her smarts." Eli told her and it felt good to see the love of my life holding our daughter. "How did you guys know to knock on this door?"

"We ran into Bullfrog and CeCe earlier. He asked where we were living. When I explained where exactly he told us to check out the neighbor because they were cool and loved little kids." Eli shook with laughter and smiled.

"Good old Bullfrog always making sure I stay happy. He knew the only way to get me back happy was to bring back the love of my life." I smiled at hearing that and went up to him and kissed him on the lips. "Man I've missed being able to do that." I nodded my head and laid it on the side that wasn't holding our daughter.

"Daddy can me and Mommy stay here the night?" Clarissa asked looking into her father's eyes and pouting her lips like she's used on me so many times.

"Yes baby girl you can if Mommy wants to." Both of them looked at me and I nodded my head. I'd do anything to see my little girl happy. On top of that I just wanted to be back in his arms at night.

It was about nine o'clock and we were putting Clarissa to bed. She was just about to fall asleep when she started asking questions.

"Daddy are you and Mommy going to get married?" She asked and I looked at Eli who only nodded his head while smiling the biggest smile ever.

"Yes baby girl we are going to get married. I'm making sure of it this time." He told her and she nodded her head.

"After that will you guys have me a little sister or brother?" I started blushing while Eli only smirked. I knew what he was thinking. He was thinking about the baby making process.

"If that makes you happy and you want one then yes we will." Eli said I saw her smile. That was exactly what she wanted.

"Okay, I love you Daddy and Mommy," she mumbled and then fell asleep.

"Daddy loves you too baby girl," I heard Eli mumble as he had the biggest smile ever on his face. He then bent down and kissed her on the head.

"I love how you are with her," I said as I gave him a kiss on the lips. He kissed me back and I smiled.

"Yea, well that's my baby girl. I'm not letting anything happen to her." He kissed me again after that. "Or you for that matter." We made it to his room and got changed then laid in his bed. He pulled me to him and snuggled to me.

"You know, I haven't even tried going out with another guy. Even though we weren't together I still felt like I was cheating on you." He just laughed a little.

"I haven't gone with another girl cause of the exact same thing. I just can't see myself with anyone but you." He started to kiss my neck. It felt good to be back home in his arms.

"Your parents are taking Clarissa for the day tomorrow. They wanted some time with her and I didn't know I'd be running into you today, so I hope that's okay with you," I said as he was kissing me. He smiled.

"They need time with her too. Besides, that gives us the day to catch up on lost time just the two of us. I'll let my parents get some time with her. It's no big deal. I'm just glad you're letting them see her. They've always wanted grandkids." I looked over at him.

"Well then while they have Clarissa we can get in practice for when we do want to make another baby." I gave him a flirty smile as I said this.

"I like the way you think lady. I'm holding you to that one too." I just laughed and kissed him on the lips before we both fell asleep.

Man I love being home.
