Valentines
Gabumon sighed as he stared into his small campfire. The pains of loneliness were unbelievable. Had it only been three days since the digidestined left? Three of the longest loneliness days of his life. The other digimon, himself included, had been to distraught and grief stricken to stay. Each one of them had left in silence. He missed all his friends, but especially Palmon. Gabumon didn't know why, but he felt more than just friendship for the plant digimon. Reminiscing, he pulls out a tattered heart shaped leaf. Originally a brilliant scarlet. Time has faded it to a chalky brownish red.
Gabumon sighs. What had she called it? A valentine?
~flashback~
What's this for Palmon?
Silly, its your valentine.
Oh, thank you. Although he didn't have a clue of what a valentine was, he was enthralled that Palmon had given him one.
What's a Valentine's day? asks Patamon.
Its a holiday humans have, and they give valentine's to their friends and family. Palmon explained.
The little bat eared digimon asked the older plant digimon.
To show that you love him or her.
The strange actions of their human companions started to make sense to the digimon.
So that's what there doing. Gabumon says quietly. He had been watching the activities with much interest.
Humans are so strange. Patamon says.
~end flashback~
Gabumon rose to his feet. Enough sitting around. He needed his friends, and he was going to find them. And he would find Palmon, and tell her exactly how he felt.
5 days later, Gabumon was still searching for his friends. Having no idea which direction they were, he had relied on his instincts on which way to go. However, he was beginning to doubt himself, and lose hope. The digital world is just to big. He thinks mournfully. His sharp eyes then depict 4 or 5 gazimon on the horizon, surrounding a pile of vegetation. What are they doing?
Gabumon begin running faster then he ever had, even when he was Garurumon.
He slammed head first into the closest gazimon
Leave her alone!
He throws the dazed gazimon into one of his friends.
Two of the gazimon begin to quietly creep away.
Come back here! He is helpless without his human. He can't digivolve. He's just a rookie. The leader sneered.
Gabumon grins at the crew, but it is not a friendly smile.
Leave now before this rookie mangles you.
I don't think so. The leader spoke up. After all, it still is three against one.
I'm soooo sorry. Nobody ever said that life was fair. Gabumon growls.
The rest of gazimon attack him all at once, but they were no match for the enraged Gabumon. Within minutes they are crawling away, looking that they had done battle with an entire army of mega digimon.
Gabumon gathers the plant digimon into his arms.
Are you okay?
Palmon opened her eyes. A fuzzy horned digimon was hovering above her. Even in her dazed state, Palmon smiled in relief. Her Gabumon was here.
she whispered weakly.
You're all right!
I will be. Please don't leave me again. Palmon begged.
Gabumon swept her up into a bear hug. She nuzzled her face into his soft shoulder, in heaven at being held by him. I must be dreaming. This can't be real.
I don't want this to be a dream.
Palmon, look at me. Gabumon steps back, and looks deeply into her green eyes.
This isn't a dream. I'm here.
Palmon wrapped her arms about Gabumon's furry body. He was just as surprised, and pleased when Palmon pressed her lips to his.
