It started with a vision.

A vision to push beyond The Walls and strike back.

Years after the collapse of humanity, The Last City and it's walls were constructed. Placed to protect its inhabitants from the monsters known as Fallen, as they scavenged and pillaged the last that humanity had.

The Guardians had been around for even longer than that, born out of The Light to save the Traveller, a roaming orb that changed everything around it. The Traveller came to humanity bearing gifts that men, women and children could only dream of. That all came crashing down...

So far it was working. Many Guardians were succeeding in bringing more and more people to the City, but there was much that humanity would need to do before they even thought about beginning to recolonise the lost planets of Mars, Venus and the many moons in the further reaches of space. There was lots to do.

And it began with that same vision.

Saint-14, one of the three distinct types of Guardian, was a Titan. And a truly legendary one at that. He considered that the only defence they could hold against the ever growing force of Fallen was an aggressive and truly overwhelming offence.

Saint-14 lead the Crusades, an aggressive campaign to take over lost lands from the Fallen, and create a more safe environment for those inside the Walls. It worked, and every time a new mission succeeded the team responsible fired a flare into the sky, signalling a victory over the Fallen.

It ran like clockwork now, and it seemed like even the Guardians were becoming invincible, Saint-14 had even gone so far as to kill the Kell of the Fallen House of Devils. It seemed like certain defeat for Saint-14, as the giant monster had him in a choke hold, but he summoned all his might into a headbutt that literally caved in this creature's skull, marking the end of the crusades against the Fallen.

His work however was not complete. After establishing the Vanguard and the Consensus, and becoming the first Vanguard Titan leader, there was an issue with one of Saint's closest friends, Osiris. He had travelled to Mercury, and Saint-14 felt this would become a problem, as the race of murderous machines known as The Vex inhabited this planet -turning it into a machine in days - and that Osiris' presence there may cause a disturbance in the short lived time of established peace within The City.

Saint-14 travelled to Mercury, the Vex planet, to find a large gate. Many Vex stepped out and surrounded the Titan, and he fought hard.

The Titan's helmet was ripped from his head, and he was cast away to an infinite land with no exit in sight. But he did not let this deter him. He continued to fight, and due to the Vex's influence on time itself, some say he continues to fight to this day.

As much regard as I put Saint-14 into, dear reader - this is not a story about him.

It is a story of a Titan named Void-3, and his unrelenting obsession for Saint-14.

Stay around for my tale, and I will show you how one man's complete madness for another's can lead to, downfall.
