This was for the challenge: take something you've written and show it from another character's point of view. This is Dean's POV of Hide and Seek.
There's something outside. Booming noises from the front door are a distraction, Dean knows. Quiet scratches from the back door signal the real danger.
He's got the shotgun, but can't cover both. There are bolt holes all over this place, he just has to get Sammy into one and hunker down 'til Dad gets home.
"Someone's knockin', Dean?"
"No squirt, it's just the wind. Hey, wanna play a trick on Dad?"
"Yeah!"
Dean herds his brother into a back closet and locks the door. Sam colors quietly as Dean settles the shotgun across his knees and waits for his father.
