The Beginning of Forever
This is my very first attempt at writing a book, so I welcome constructive criticism. This scene is set a year after the series finale of Shadowhunters. I do not own the characters; this is just a fan story.
"Good morning Alexander" upon hearing those words from his husband, Alec Lightwood-Bane opened his eyes and smiled
"Good morning to you too" he says, smiling and leaning forward to plant a kiss on Magnus' lips. The kiss soon led to something else with Magnus sinking his fingers in his hair and caressing his chest with his other free hand.
After 5 minutes of kissing and heavy petting, Alec pulls apart from Magnus
"we have to get up soon, we have a long day ahead of us"
"I know" Magnus says, "but after today, we'll never be alone in our home again so let's take advantage of it and have a proper farewell to our lives before kids".
Today was the day their son Max was coming home. After months of scheduled visits with adoption agencies, today, they were finally releasing Max unto their care and they couldn't be happier.
"I can't believe we're going to be dad" Alec says, "it all still feels like a dream to me"
"I know Alexander, it's a dream I don't want to wake up from" Magnus replied
30 minutes later after a long shower together, Alec and Magnus are both dressed and waiting for their son to arrive with the Clave social worker. Magnus reaches for Alec and pull him in front of him with his hands resting on his waist and a serious look on his face. Alec didn't understand the look and got a little worried,
"Is everything okay he asks? Are you regretting agreeing to adopt Max? Do you not like the name Max? What's wrong? Please talk to me" he says, freaking out a little bit,
"No Alexander" Magnus replied, "Nothing like that. I just can't believe how happy I am, I have been alive for centuries and I can't recall a time when I have been this happy. You are my whole life and I love you and now you've given me, no, you've given us, a chance to have a son and start a family of our own and I am beyond happy, I don't know what I did to deserve your love and I will spend the rest of our life together loving you and Max and any other kids we have".
"Oh Magnus" Alec replied, "you've made me happier than I ever dreamed possible. I love you and I love Max and I will continue to love you until my dying day"
Leaning down, he planted a huge kiss on Magnus' lips and just as Magnus was about to deepen the kiss, the doorbell rang.
"Are you ready" Magnus asked
"Yes" Alec replied, "I am ready to meet our son".
