Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, sadly, JKR does. How great my life would be if she'd sell them to me… *sighs longingly*

Authors note: I do realize that some of the facts in this might be incorrect, for example, Tonks wasn't a part of the first Order. This is merely how I plan them meeting in my head, so I apologise if you have any problems with what I have changed. Anyway, I guess that was just to say that this is MY story, so I can do what the hell I want with it! This is a one-shot, I know I'm supposed to be uploading more for my other fanfiction, but I'm kind of on a writer's block with that one in the moment, I'm completely stuck for ideas. So, I guess if you have any ideas for how Neville's life should turn out in my longer fanfiction, or you have a request for any one-shots you'd like me to write, send me a message! And, of course, as always, reviews are much appreciated. I LOVE THEM! *hint hint*

Oh well, here's the story! Hope you like it!

Remus Lupin stood next to his old friends from Hogwarts; Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, James Potter and Lily Evans. Not long had passed since their days at Hogwarts, yet James and Lily were preparing for their summer wedding.

He looked at James, whose hand was holding Lily's and sighed. They belonged together, were deeply in love, and Lupin felt a pang of sadness whenever he looked at them. Would anybody ever be able to look past his curse and fall in love with the real him? He caught Sirius looking at him with concern then, and looked up.

"Moony?" Sirius asked. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, Padfoot," Lupin mumbled, and before Sirius could continue getting him to talk, Albus Dumbledore walked into the room along with Mad-eye Moody and a pretty witch with long brown hair.

"My faithful Order members," Dumbledore said. "This is Nymphadora Tonks."

"Don't," she said, her hair turning bright red, her brown eyes turning green and flashing madly, "EVER call me Nymphadora!"

Remus felt his jaw drop wide open, and heard Mad-eye chuckle.

"That's my Tonks," he said, patting her on the back. "You all look after her, she's had a lot less experience with this kind of stuff."

Mad-eye was right – Tonks was 13 years younger than the Marauders, who'd left Hogwarts before she'd even started.

But she was brave, and as they got to know her Remus found that she was the sort of person who could crack a joke in any situation, and make everyone laugh even on the darkest of days.

And it didn't take long for Lupin to realize that she was the only one he ever wanted to be with.

He just hoped that one day she'd be able to see past the monster inside of him, fall in love with him too.

Maybe then he could truly be happy…

Authors note 2: Agghh, I know, it kind of doesn't make sense, I was bored and going wherever my pen wanted to go with this one. Sorry about that. Anyway, let me know what you think!
