dreams and wishes roam around

and darkness lurks in their midst

you have no idea of what you found

but slowly reminisce


for what erised shows you

is not truly what is real

many perish before its eyes

without knowing how they feel


remember what I tell you:

when greed comes with desire

it destroys everything in its way

and leaves it smoldering like a fire


do not ever come again

into the mirror's watchful eyes

for what erised tells you

will be no more than lies
