Shion had woken up to the suns blinding rays as he slowly opened his eyes to the early morning. Today was a Saturday, Shion's favorite day to just lounge about his big and lofty home. He looked to the side of his large bed to find it empty yet again like everyday for the past four years since the walls had broken down, since he saw the correctional facility being burned down and blown up, and… the last time he saw the ebony haired man that would sleep soundly next to him in there cozy small space they had shared. Those four years had been turmoil for him, utter turmoil, just waiting for that man and his promise to return had Shion on edge. Shion had started to worry for the man as the years went by but… started to slowly decrease and his worry was down to a minimum, pushed to the back of his mind, and his hope for his return had dulled to a numb sensation that he would feel every morning that he woke up but nonetheless was still clinging onto that hope like it was the only thing keeping him hoisted up above that endless abyss of darkness that would slowly eat him. Groggily, Shion got out of his to big of a bed and slowly walked to his bathroom where he would take his morning shower.

When Shion had walked out of the bathroom half dressed with a towel over his hair, drying it, Shion had heard a squeak from his work desk toward the center of his large room. When he turned toward the sound and his surprise was plastered on his face, big and obvious, with his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open he had let out a gasp and, from instinct, had covered him mouth. He started to slowly walk toward the small creature that now sat on his desk.

"C-cravat?" He said, barely above a whisper.

The small mouse squeaked in response to his question and tried to nudge the little capsule into the younger boys hand that seem to be glued to the edge of the desk, staring at the mouse in disbelief. Shion slowly let go of the desk that was held in a death grip and gratefully took the capsule from the small creature and proceeded to open it. Disbelief was written over his face as he read the tiny letter that was written in an all too familiar handwriting.

See you soon

~Nezumi

That was all it took to make Shion's hope grow stronger and hoist him higher from that big, black, and threatening abyss that wanted to swallow him whole. His hope risen to dangerous heights that wanted to take him off of his feet. He held that letter like it was the only thing helping him stand. He just knelled on the floor by his desk and the only sound that echoed his room was his muffled sobs as he covered his mouth with the letter clutched tight.

He just had to wait.

But...

For how long?

How long will Shion have to wait for him?

He just hoped it was soon enough so that his strand of hope doesn't start to rot away again and being left with only that small strand to keep hold of him from the terrible, darkness that promised grief and pain. Shion will wait.
