"Brian why is there a ping pong table where my sofa was yesterday?" Sandra asked as she walked into her office, which was now significantly different to how she'd left it but decided to wait for a explanation before blowing her top.

"Strickland had two PCs bring it down and he wants to see you in his office." Brian replied as Sandra took one more look at the table and walked out.

"Good morning Sandra." Strickland greeted her.

"Why have you turned my office into a playground?!" Sandra asked aggressively, "Actually no, why have you turned it into a playground without so much as telling me?!"

"It's a new initiative."
"To what? Pack police work in and have play time?"

"No, I was at a meeting with the other commissioners and deputies from around London and we discussed how play keeps the mind active and help you to focus."

"Yeah, but not on the job!"

"Well if you're right then our test will prove that."

"So you've only stuck a ping pong table in my department?!"

"For now."

"We have work to do. Where did you move my sofa to?" Sandra asked as Strickland pointed to the corner of the room. "You took our sofa?!"

"Borrowed." Strickland corrected.

"Well get whoever you got to put the table in my office to come and get it and move my sofa back." Sandra said as she walked out only to be faced with the boys playing a table tennis tournament when she got back.

"What's it doing here?" Jack asked as he watched Gerry and Brian rallying the ball.

"New play initiative." Sandra sighed.

"Do you know play's good for the brain, it boosts concentration and increases focus?" Brian added.

"That's what Strickland said." Sandra grumbled.

"This is brilliant, he did something alright for a change," Gerry said cheerfully as he'd just won the point.

"It's only for breaks though." Sandra said giving up as she left them all to it.

"Sandra look, we've drawn up a tournament board." Brian told her to her disappointment, she'd hoped the boys would hate it as much as she did but who was she kidding.

"You're against me guv', I'm great at this game, but don't worry I'll go easy on you." Gerry told her.

"Don't you dare." Sandra replied, her competitive side kicking in.

"Sorry, what was that about being great?" Sandra asked smiling.

"Yeah well obviously I went easy on you."

"Right." Sandra said sarcastically, "So who am I playing next?"

"Jack, he beat me earlier while you were shut away in your office." Brian informed her.

"Okay, well good luck Jack." Sandra said.

"How are you so good at table tennis?" Sandra asked, still in shock from losing.

"When I was younger Mary and I went on a cruise and we were the champions of couples ping pong."

"And you never told us?" Gerry asked confused.

"Never saw that it was relevant, so now we've finished this God awful game do you think we could do something worthwhile? Like our jobs maybe?"

"Yes of course grumpy, I'll beat you next play break though!" Sandra said through giggles.
