Author's Note:
I'm still coping with a very moody muse at the moment. So apologies for the randomness of how I'm writing right now. This is just a one-shot that came into my head before. Any feedback welcomed.
Where, where have you been my love?
Where, oh where can you be?
It's been so long since the moon has gone
And oh, what a wreck you made me.
Are
you there over the ocean?
Are
you there up in the sky?
Until
the return of my love,
This
lullaby.
My
hope is on the horizon
Every
face your eyes I can see
I
plead and pray, though each night and day
Our
embrace is only a dream.
And
sure as days come from moments
Each
hour becomes a life's time
When
she left, I'd only begun
This
lullaby.
This Lullaby- Queens of The Stone Age
"Forever, Will."
He squeezed her fingers gently, breathing in the sweet scent of her soft hair. "Promise?"
She laughed gently, her smile tender, her brown eyes warm as she looked up at him. "I promise; I will love you forever."
Forever.
That was what she had promised him. Will sighed bitterly. His beautiful, tender Elizabeth plagued his thoughts. Her acid promises. Her fickle love. She had looked him in the eye and promised to always love him. Damn it.
He could blame Jack Sparrow. But he knew it had been Elizabeth.
It had been a choice for her; forever or freedom?
Will stared into the fire in the grate, burning away, the flames reflected in his haunted eyes. She had made her decision.
And yet if she appeared in the doorway now... he'd love her just as before.
Because that was what forever meant. Elizabeth hadn't learned it, Jack Sparrow hadn't- but Will had.
