Kagome-chan

Disclaimer: Don't own Inuyasha, don't want to.

Author's note: Ok warning, suicidal thoughts. Just to let you know, I'm not suicidal. No need to be, actually I'm quite happy. Just a story my friend (Can't say the name, you know, to protect their privacy) wrote and I liked it so I'm posting it. As previously stated, suicidal thoughts. Ok here goes, tell me what you think and I'll pass it along.

Kagome-chan

Black hair and brown eyes,

Oh ho they entice me,

How they chase away,

The everyday pain,

The rush they give me,

The freedom the grant me,

The love they hold for me,

The love I feel for them,

When I think of them,

Fighting and beatings,

Just don't matter,

Because they are mine,

But what happens,

When they disappear,

When the pain,

Gets to be too much,

When I can't think,

Eat, or sleep anymore,

When only they,

Can save me.

The face stared down at the page below, a tear rolled down a tan cheek and dripped onto the page in front of the pencil. The orange HB2 pencil slid from calloused, tan fingers and hit the page. Time seemed to move in slow motion as those same fingers reached for the silver box that sat atop a red dresser. The fingers dipped into the box and fished around for a moment before extracting a silver military switch-blade. With fingers wrapped around the hilt, the blade hovered above the the exposed wrist. Slowly the blade lowered toward the wrist, and touched the already, lightly, scared wrist.

All noise was ignored, including the now ringing phone, the blade pushed against the scared skin as blood began to seep out of the cut. One deep cut and it would all be over, the cold metal dug deeper.

"Honey, it's for you," the voice drifted up the stairs.

Absently he pressed the speaker phone button, "Hello?" He asked as he pressed the blade against the wrist, now seeping with blood.

"Hey," was the only response, and the fingers dropped the blade as a look of shock registered on his face. Something so simple, a single word, had saved a life for another day. The name rolled on his tounge and played on his lips...

"Kagome-chan."
