Pass the Arc Series One
Episode One:
The Reminder
Scene One
The Doctor bursts through the TARDIS doors in a jolly manner, twirling up the steps and over to the controls. He is holding a Dalek eyestalk.
Doctor: (muttering, smirking) Haha! Dalek.
Amy and Rory walk down the stairs opposite the Doctor.
Amy: (scolding the Doctor) You said you were going to find something to fix the leak of Huon particles in the TARDIS.
Rory: Yeah, not a—is that a Dalek eye? You leave for DIY tools and come back with a Dalek eye thing?
Amy: Doctor, what are you doing with robot parts? You said yourself that you need to fix that Huon thing.
Doctor: Daleks aren't robots, Amelia. Besides, (moving around the controls) Huon particles are attracted to each other, so they can't be going too—
A young girl (looking 17) is transported in, appearing through white and grey lighting flash like that of a Vortex Manipulator. She is dressed as the Doctor in a bow tie, tweed and sleeve braces. Her expression is blank, head tilted in observation.
Doctor: -far… Hello…person. (speaking cautiously to the newest personality aboard the TARDIS)
Girl: (in a monotonous, almost computer-like voice) Lord Doctor, the Shadow Proclamation has determined your mischief to be, quote, out of hand. You have been assigned a Reminder.
Doctor: (stepping closer to the girl) And that's you, huh? Reminders sure have changed. (pointing Sonic Screwdriver towards the Reminder, waving it around and then examining the readings)
Rory: Doctor, what's a 'Reminder'?
The Reminder snaps her head in a dress left to face Rory. Eyes continuously wide and expression vacant, Reminder takes two even paces towards Amy and Rory as the Doctor is still preoccupied with analysis.
Reminder: A Reminder is a living being programmed to speak only truth, not omitting anything. They are used to keep mischievous people and organizations grounded by dressing and acting a part of the person or organization's past…. I am the Reminder.
Amy: (to the Doctor) She's your parole officer?
Doctor: (still occupied with analyzing Reminder, but now on the TARDIS monitor) Yes. Well, no—but yes if it makes you feel better. Sure. (looking to Reminder) Could you just, I don't know, talk normal or something? Thanks. Much Appreciated! (triumphantly presses one final button, finishing analysis)
Reminder: God, I thought I'd have to talk that way forever. (clears throat) But I still have you address your truth somehow, and you know what that means. Which do you prefer for a name, Lord Doctor or—(cut off)
Doctor: Lord Doctor will do, Reminder. None of that other word.
The Reminder smiles up at the Doctor, smirking as the scene slowly zooms out. Amy and Rory are exchanging confused expressions at the latest conversation. Breaking the beat of silence, the Doctor pulls a lever.
Doctor: So, where to next, Ponds... (awkwardly adding in)…and Reminder?
