A/N: This is my way of taking a break from my fic Tell No Lies. Writing poetry. At 1:30am in the morning. About Jack, no less. I need a hobby, don't I? :P Yes, I'm still writing it, so don't worry, fellow POTC-lovers. And if you have no idea what I'm taking about…might I suggest reading it? ~_^ * coughshamelesspromotioncough * Well, my first poem is a haiku and the second is just kind of a rhyming one with a hint of free verse. Well, enjoy!

~Horizon: My Treasure~

Horizon

The sparrow flies on

Going wherever it wants

To the horizon

My Treasure

Drumming in the background, announcing my demise,

My expression unreadable, perfects disguise.

The rope hangs in front of me,

Mocking me,

Waiting for the opportune moment for all to see.

Those in front goggle at me like I'm a caged animal on show,

But they cannot see my inner woe.

If I die…my freedom is gone.

I'll never see my Pearl on the evening dawn.

My treasure.

Being without her is a fate worse than death.

The thought of losing her is an image that will haunt me to my last breath.

Too long since I've been at her helm, caressing her beautifully carved wood,

Me by her side like I truly should.

We are two halves and without each other we are not complete.

Without her, I am nothing, an amazing feat.

Her and my horizon.

More precious to me than a son.

Time's up. The noose comes around my neck.

My feet will never be again on the Pearl's deck.

But they will not see me waver.

My expression is solemn, to say the least,

But they will not see me cry, the unwanted beast.

I will make my ship proud.

I stare at the crowd.

A rush of gravity pulling and---

WOOSH!

I stop mid-way, isn't that grand?

A sword, ironically, saved my life,

The whelp, and yes, Norrington's soon to be wife.

One thought crosses my mind as I struggle for balance:

I'm coming.
