Satoshi glanced out the window. He was going to Kalos. Excitement built up on him. He and Pikachu were actually, no, finally going. He glanced at Pikachu, whose expression looked happy enough. He wasn't so sure what his friend was thinking, but sometimes, he had a hunch.
The mouse pokemon was one of his closest friends, and he began to understand him. From the way he calls him Pikapi to what he likes. And surely, Pikachu understood him too.
It caught his attention, though. He realized how far he really was, from the day he met Pikachu, to now.
He had met many people, from gym leaders-to-be and fellow trainers. They were all what he considered great friends. He knew the short times they were all together weren't the end. They'd meet again someday.
He lost four leagues, but he was still a child. Satoshi knew he probably wouldn't win one anytime, but the challenge made his heart burn with passion. He loved challenges. Winning the Orange League or conquering the Battle Frontier were feats, he figured. But what he enjoyed most, was the challenge itself. Gym battles were a thrill, even if he lost, he would just stand up to it and try harder.
Challenging the Kalos League would be fun, and interesting. After all, with each new region he had went to, there were always the variety of Pokemon to see.
Was he going to travel alone? He wasn't so sure. But having Pikachu by his side would be more than enough. The mouse pokemon had been with him through hard times and through everything since he began his journey.
Satoshi smiled softly.
"Hey, Pikachu.." the pokemon's ears flicked, turning to him. "We've come long way, haven't we?"
Pikachu agreed, and Satoshi knew, even with the language barrier between them. The boy tipped his hat, drowsiness overcoming him. All the excitement within him drained as fatigue washed over him. He was still hours away from reaching his destination. A short nap wouldn't hurt.
He rested a hand on Pikachu's head as he began to reminisce the times he had with his friends.
