The land of the blue people
The blue people were glum and quiet folk
Whenever they spoke they made a raspy croak,
They moped and cried all day long,
And deafened other people with their sad song
They lived in a land of different shades of blue,
Turquoise and Navy, it was quiet a dull hue
They lived in blue houses and ate blue food,
And altogether acted in a very blue mood
Rain fell each day onto the blue streets,
They hardly exchanged words, no goodbyes and no greets,
They had a variety of blue cheese, which they devoured each day,
Off a small blue platter in their dull, lifeless way
One day one blue citizen, Aquamarine
Thought of something that had never been seen
In the blue country, or in the blue hills
Or between the vast amounts of blue daffodils
It was an idea – a great big one indeed
It was something she was sure the blue town would need
She rushed to her blue house, and in the blue attic,
She found many things, her brain then went static
She put together many pieces of junk,
And then ran back to her front yard, then threw them in a chunk
She began placing them together, using blue glue,
Many people queried her but them she would shoo
Eventually she finished, wiping the blue sweat off her face,
What she had made was far from disgrace!
It was giant blue ladder made of many blue shades
And towards the top it began to fade
As Aqua stood on the top of the ladder, she extended her arms
Then reached for the sun, a giant gold charm,
She cried in shock as half of her blue body began to change,
It was different yellows, a very great range
Suddenly the ladder started to shake too and fro
And Aqua began to fall, ever so slow,
She fell and she fell, until she reached the hard ground
And all of the blue neighbours rushed to the sound
Aqua got up slowly, looking below
She had survived the fall from the ladder which went too and fro
Although something about her was extremely weird
At first the blue people looked at her and feared
She smiled and greeted everyone in a friendly manner,
Although she looked like she'd been to a tanner!
Her bottom was still blue, so she walked slowly still,
But now she looked more like a yellow daffodil
The townspeople groaned in their blue fashion,
They didn't seem to care that Aqua looked quiet smashing
They looked at her with certain disgust
"We should kick her out, we most certainly must!"
They crowded around her, picking her up
Her smile soon grew bigger as she picked up a cup
She pulled some other things and put them together,
The people soon dropped her, in a very bad weather
"Look, my friends, we should all build a ladder!
A very great big one so you shall no longer be madder!"
The blue people thought, then looked back at the girl
Then they agreed to let her plan unfurl
Soon the silhouette of a giant ladder in shades of blue
Could be seen against the sun, it grew and grew!
And as it grew, so did the line
Of people waiting to be turned sublime
They all went up and touched the sun
And realised that life was quiet fun!
Afterwards the now yellow people rejoiced
They were so glad that they had made the right choice
Now the yellow people can be seen everyday,
Laughing and playing in their yellow way,
They eat yellow cheese on little yellow platters
And act as if trouble really doesn't matter
