Draco does the only thing he can think of to save Harry, even if it means Harry will never love him back.

I know I write really short chaps. But it is either that or no updates for a LONG time, so don't use unforgivables…please? hides behind desk from oncoming curse Hey, I said please!

Prologue
Draco was bored. He was so bored his thought process was turning from pureblood standards. That was very bad. Especially in a house full of secrets, like the Malfoy Manor.

He was currently in secret passage number 12; he started counting on the ones he didn't know existed. So far he had only found long forgotten dark artifacts, an occasional forbidden book, but nothing that exciting. Well, except for a box. It was plain, well, by Malfoy standards. It was made of a rich mahogany; a simple design of moving roses dated it. It was from his ancestor, Megdagad (1).

He was curious to say the least. Anything in the Malfoy house that looks plain isn't. Especially things in dim, dark long forgotten secret passages. Now if he could only figure out how to open it…

Ron was looking at the small figure curled up in the bed next to his. He looked so beautiful; his hair had grown out and was now framing his face. He was so small and light he seemed like a child not a man of 16.

Ron was gay, well…not really. He only liked Harry. He was so small, so easy to dominate. So beautiful, and think of the fame he could have. He could see the headlines now 'Ron Weasley, boyfriend to the boy who lived'.

He didn't think Harry was gay. The small boy whimpered in his sleep Ron moved to his side, stroking the sweaty locks, loving the way he calmed under his gentle ministrants. 'He doesn't have to be' Ron thought 'there will be only me.'

Not many knew this but Ginny should have been in Slytherin. She knew things. She saw things others missed. That was why she knew what how Ron felt about Harry. That was why she was writing to the only one she trusted to help.

Draco Malfoy.

She knew that Draco was gay, well everyone 'knew', but not everyone had proof. She thought looking at pictures she had taken of him and Blaise when they thought they had been alone.

She also knew that Draco liked Harry. She had seen the looks he sent Gryffindor change from those of disgust to those of concern. She knew he saw how thin Harry was, she also knew he would never hurt Harry.

She also knew he would save Harry from what ever Ron had planned for him, and knowing her brother dearest it couldn't be good.

She watched in revulsion as Ron gently stroked Harry's hair. She watched as Harry calmed from his nightmare. She watched as he leaned into Ron's touch. She watched as he whimpered when the hand was removed. She watched as Ron watched Harry.

But that was all she ever did, she watched.

She wasn't brave enough to be in Gryffindor, for she never acted.

I know this is short, it is a prologue though, prologues should be short. nods head

1 – Megdagad means rose, I thought it fit…
