Six months ago, I told him he lost me. Six seconds ago, I realized, I lost him.
I ran down the hall, wanting him back, wanting the feeling of knowing that he was my boyfriend, just knowing. I opened the door to his dressing room,
"Chad, I need to…" And I stop in my tracks. What I saw there does not only make me cry, it makes me step back and wish I never walked into that room. It was the most awkward situation you could ever imagine. Chad was making out with another girl when I barged in on him.
"I'm so sorry…" I turned around awkwardly and walked out the door with tears in my eyes. I ran to my dressing room, grabbed all of my things and went home.
I spent basically the whole night sobbing my eyes out. It was awful. I made such a mistake with my life, I couldn't believe what I had done.
But suddenly, around 9:00 at night, I received a text message from Chad. It read:
So this weird girl barges into my dressing room this afternoon for no reason why…
I giggled. I texted back:
Sorry about that…
A couple minutes later he answers:
Yeah… what was that about?
I sigh, and decide I have to tell him. What good would it do if I didn't? But I didn't want to tell him just out of the blue. It had to be subtle.
I don't know… I guess I just wanted to tell you something…
His reply:
Well what is it?
My response:
I can't tell you anymore…
His reply:
Alright, can we play 20 questions?
I giggled and responded:
Sure…
His response:
One, does it have to do with your show?
I replied happily:
No.
His response:
Does it have to do with Tawni?
I reply:
No.
His response:
Does it have to do with Nico?
I reply:
No.
His response:
Does it have to do with Grady?
I reply:
No.
His response:
Does it have to do with Zora?
I reply:
No… and will you stop? Why would it have to do with them?
He replied:
Relax…relax… I'm just guessing all of the possible answers… so… does it have to do with… us?
I sighed:
Yes.
He replied:
Ok, what about that girl in my dressing room that wasn't you… does she have any explanation as to why you can't tell me?
I sighed once again and typed:
Yes.
He replied:
8, was this question… a request?
My response:
Yes.
His response:
9, was this request to stop being so loud in the cafeteria?
I rolled my eyes:
Chad…
His reply:
10, ok, ok… this request must have been… a get back.
I sighed:
Ding, ding, ding!
His reply:
Oh… well… I'm sorry Sonny… I uh… I can't accept that request. That girl in there, who wasn't you… well… she's my… she's my girlfriend.
I sighed and replied:
Oh… just as I thought… but you asked… I answerd.
His response:
But we can still… be… friends…
That time, I did not answer. If Chad Dylan Cooper wouldn't be my boyfriend, then he could not be my friend.
