Kat's Nemesis

It was almost midnight. The Turbo Rangers were sound asleep below the deck of the Ghost Galleon. All but one: Katherine. She was standing on the deck, staring at the water beneath her and reflecting on the purpose of this ever-so important journey.

Kat had always been willing to go on any mission, but this time it was different. Not just a big deal, which it was, but something she had been dreading for a long time; Kimberly's reunion with the Power Rangers.

Even though Tommy and Kim were over, she was still insecure about their newfound relationship, and often wondered if he was still in love with her.

Kat sighed with frustration. No matter what I do, I'm still just second best. She thought to herself. I'm always in her shadow, replacing her as the Pink Ranger and Tommy's girlfriend. She stared at the moon, hoping it would give her the answers she was searching for. But it was silent. She would have to figure them out on her own.

Justin woke up, only to find that Katherine was gone. He looked at his watch which read 3:00 A.M.

He tugged on their leader's sleeve. "Tommy," he hissed. "Wake up."

Tommy opened one eye. "What is it Justin?" he asked groggily.

"Kat's gone." Justin whispered.

Tommy sat up abruptly. He looked around. Sure enough, she wasn't there.

"Stay here. I'll go find her." Quietly, so he wouldn't wake up Tanya and Adam, he tiptoed up the stairs. He spotted Kat leaning against the ship's railing.

"Katherine?" She turned around. "What are you doing up so late?"

"I couldn't sleep." she replied.

Tommy went over to her. "Kat, I know what you're thinking. Just because Kim is back doesn't mean we're getting back together. I'm worried about her, but no more than I am about Jason or Lerigot. I still love and care about her, that won't just go away. But I care about you, too." Kat turned back to the ocean. "You really do mean a lot to me. Not only did you help me get over Kim, you made me fall for you, too." Tommy thought for a moment. "It's sort of like being hit by a car. You don't realize what a great person the driver is until you forget about the first time it happened to you."

"That makes sense."

"Well, you're a lot smarter than I am, because I have no idea what I just said."

Kat laughed. "We'd better go back."

Tommy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Justin will be worried." He took her hand, and together, they went below deck.

The End.
