Lovesick
The now former Rangers and the people of Terra Venture had been welcomed with open arms by the people of Mirinoi. The guys were staying in one of the tents Commander Stanton had had set up, and Kendrix and Karone stayed with Maya and her family.
Kendrix and Leo were spending most of the time just staring in each other's eyes. Maya noticed that Karone was staring at them too, and she didn't look very happy.
She put her hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"
Karone forced a smile. "I'm fine." But there were tears in her eyes. "I'm going to take a walk."
"Do you want me to go with you?"
She shook her head. "No, I need to be alone." Karone walked out of the tent.
Damon went over to Maya. "Where's she going?"
Maya sighed. "I have no idea. And I don't think she does either."

Karone had been gone for almost an hour. All the Rangers were worried, especially Maya.
"What if she got attacked by a wild animal?" She worried. "What if she got lost? I should have gone with her."
"I'm sure Karone is fine." Leo reassured her.
"Why would she go off like that? She doesn't know her way around. Except for Maya, none of us do." Kendrix said.
"I'm going after her." She opened the tent flap and bumped right into Alpha.
"The old Rangers are here. All of them, including Zhane."
They followed Alpha outside. Sure enough, there were the Space Rangers.
"Hey, guys!" Ashley said.
"We heard that you found a new world, so we decided to check it out." Carlos said.
Cassie gasped. "Kendrix? You're alive?"
Kendrix smiled. "Yup." Cassie gave her a big hug.
"We have so much to tell you." Damon said.
"Where's Karone?" Zhane asked. "I can't wait to see her."
Maya's face fell. "She went for a walk. I'll go find her."
Zhane shrugged good-naturedly. "Okay."

Maya hurried through the forest. "Karone?" she called. But there was no answer. She moved aside some branches and found a dirt path. She followed it to a beautiful lake. "Karone?"
"I'm over here." She heard. Karone was sitting on a large boulder with the water up to her ankles.
"I've been looking all over for you."
"Oh, sorry."
"Karone, please tell me, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. I don't want to talk about it." Maya saw that her eyes were red from crying.
"Well, too bad. I'm making you. Are you hurt or sick?"
Karone nodded. "Yeah, I'm sick all right. Lovesick."
Maya sat down next to her. "Does this have anything to do with Kendrix and Leo?"
Karone looked surprised. "No, it has nothing to do with them. It has to do with Zhane. I miss him, and I'm a little homesick."
A small smile began to creep on Maya's face. She stood up. "Come with me. I have a surprise for you."
Karone shook her head. "I want to stay here a little while longer."
Maya pulled her arm. "Come on." She dragged her all the way back to the campsite.
"So, what's the surprise? It's just Kendrix, Leo, Damon, Kai, Alpha, Zhane..." She did a huge double take. "Oh, my God, Zhane!" She ran into his arms.
He laughed. "I take it you've missed me."
"You bet I did. When did you get here?"
"A few minutes ago. We're here, too, you know." Andros said.
Karone let go of Zhane long enough to give her brother a hug. " And I missed you as well."
"So," said Zhane, "what are we going to do now?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean are you going to stay on Mirinoi?"
She shook her head. "No, I did what I had to do, and then some. It's time for me to go home." She turned to her new friends. "It's been great, but I have to go."
"It's okay. We understand. I know the feeling of homesickness all too well." Maya said. She hugged her and both girls started to cry. Kendrix, Ashley, and Cassie joined them. Now there were five girls blubbering away.
Damon made a face. "They cry too much! I'm going to cry if they don't stop."
The girls stopped crying long enough to give him a Look. Then they all burst out laughing.
