"Hey Doug can I ask you something?" Frey sat down, we had been fighting monsters in Yokmir Forest for almost an hour now. She seemed a bit off the whole time though.

"Sure." I took a seat next to her, a small breeze making her pigtails dance for a short time. She was so beautiful. Sweat kept her bangs plastered to her forehead and the dark circles under her eyes made her seem worn out but even so she managed to look so wonderful.

"Why... did you help us?" She turned to me for a moment then glanced away, "I mean you thought Ventuswill... well you know. But you still gave us the last runesphere back then. You said... you trusted me. You didn't talk to Lest when you gave the rune shpere to us you spoke only to me. Why did you trust me but not them?"

Her green eyes met my gray ones and held their focus. Those eyes were such a unique green, dull and soft with such a soul behind them. I found myself blushing as I tried to think of a proper response. To tell her it was because I had a thing for her would sound childish and besides it was so much more than a crush. I opened my mouth to speak but froze for a minute trying to find the proper words.

"Well.. I... What does it matter?" I turned to look straight ahead as some chipsqueak romping around together.

"I just... I want to know."Frey's voice sounded more determined now, "I want to know if you maybe feel the way I do."

I brought my eyes back to hers. her face was turning a deep shade of red and her eyes looked nervous though her voice didn't shake. Was she trying to confess o me?

"What..?" Was all I could manage to get out of my mouth, if she really did like me... the thoughts were just endless.

"I love you."

Her face turned down for a second as her hands flexed in the grass nervously. Her blush was still visable and still growing across her face and I felt my own face burn to a shade of red.

"Are you serious?" I asked, managing to get over my initial bashfulness to speak clearly.

"I really love you Doug." Her eyes shook as she glanced up for a moment, as if she were about to cry from how embarassed she felt.

"Are you sure you want me?" I crept my hand to hers and interlaced our fingers, causing a small smile to form from her mouth as she kept a steady gaze with me now.

"Yes."

I couldn't help the dorkish grin that took over my face as I brought my other hand up to brush a tear that escaped her eye off her cheek. She was so precious. So wonderful. And now, all mine.

"You know... I have had a thing for you... since then. And I was going to try and confess to you, but it looks like you beat me to it." feeling my blush return as I smiled, "So will you be my girlfriend?"

"I'd love nothing more." Frey nodded her eyes began to drip but her face had such a joy on it that I never saw before, and it was amazing.

"Well than dear would you like to call me by a nickname now, that is something couples do right." I blinked not fully sure to be honest.

She giggled and squeezed my hand lightly, "How about I call you Sir."

"Sir? Doesn't that sound a bit distant don't you think?"

She shook her head, "Not at all. I think it's cute. And I think it brings me even closer to my precious sir." She smiled.

I couldn't lie, the nickname did make me happy. Sir Doug. Her one and only lover. And when I thought about that it made me feel all the more excited.

"You're right. I'd love to be your sir."
