Toriel hummed softly to the music box that played in the corner as she rocked Asriel back and forwards. She looked down upon her child's sleeping face with only love and adoration a mother could only have. Toriel ran her thumb across her child's face and a soft smile appeared on her face as he leaned into her warm touch and let out a sigh.
Softly, she placed him into his cradle and covered him with a warm blanket and walked over to the open music box. A small ballerina monster was spinning around, hands over her head and feet firmly planted together as she spun.
Turning it over, she wound it up once more before placing onto his nightstand and allowing the calm sound to ring out across his room. Toriel walked to the door and looked back, a small smile on her face as she did. Asriel was still fast asleep in his crib. "Goodnight, my child." Toriel walked out of the door and left it open a crack so the hallway light peered into the dark and lit a way of safety for her baby.
