Coming Home

Sam stood watching Dean, framed in the window.

Dean's shoulders were tense, his posture stiff.

In his hand was a glass, not held confidently between his fingers, but clutched tightly in his fist.

The boy and his mother, whose names Sam couldn't remember, were in the room too.

Dean seemed interested.

He smiled at the woman and high-fived the kid.

But when they left him alone, Sam saw the truth.

Dean's shoulders slumped and he sighed heavily before shot gunning the last of his drink.

Unfortunately this time, apple pie didn't seem to be agreeing with him.

A/N II : This is my really late entry for last week. This is simply my take on what was happening at the end of Swan Song. It was heartbreaking and I couldn't help myself. Thanks for reading and please review. Penny :)
