Dean was driving the Impala on the way back from a case. Soft rock music played in the background. He glanced to the side and saw a sleeping Sam. He smiled and continued to drive. Dean pulled into a motel and parked the car. The motel was conveniently beside a bowling alley, and Dean laughed at it, and went inside to check in. When he came back Sam was awake.
"What were laughing at earlier?" Sam asked.
"There is a bowling alley right beside the motel. I haven't been bowling for ages." Dean replied.
"I went with Jess once," Sam said a little sadly.
"Did you win?"
"No," Sam said sheepishly.
Dean burst in to laughter.
"Like you said Dean we haven't been bowling in ages."
"Okay whatever, let's just get settled." They grabbed their bags out of their bags from the trunk. They went inside and Dean locked the door and sat on the closest bed to the exit.
"Hey Sammy,"
"Yeah Dean?"
"Do you want to go bowling?"
"Sure Dean, so I can beat your sorry a**"
"Whatever B****, let's go"
"Jerk." Sam stood up and unlocked the door and got into the passenger seat of the car. Dean followed after him locking the door again. He drove to the alley. They got inside and rented bowling shoes. They found their bowling balls. Dean grabbed a 20 pound ball and Sam grabbed a 19 pound one. They settled into an empty lane. They put their names in the electronic score keeper. Sam went to go get them a drink as Dean took his first turn. Dean threw the ball and it landed in the gutter. For his second throw he hit 3 pins. Sam came back and handed him a beer.
"Wow man, you are out of practice," Sam said looking at Dean's score.
"Shut up, I bet you aren't any better."
Sam picked up his ball and bowled. He got a strike. Dean glared daggers into Sam's back.
"Sorry man I just got lucky."
"Yeah, whatever. You were probably secretly practicing while you were at Stanford."
"Dean really?"
Dean sipped at his beer with a frown.
"It's your turn Dean."
Dean got up and took his turn. He got all but two pins, which were in a split. He bowled again and got a gutter ball.
"I can ask them to put bumpers up," Sam joked smirking.
"We aren't little kids. Do you not think I can bowl like an adult?"
"I was just trying to help Dean."
"I don't need your help."
"Okay, okay Dean. Geez."
Sam bowled and got all but one. Then he collected his spare.
"Can we quit?"
"C'mon Dean let's have a little fun. Take some time off and relax."
"Fine."
"Listen if you lose I won't say anything about it."
"Fine." They continued to bowl.
Five frames later, Dean was sweating. His tongue was stuck out between his lips in concentration. He bowled and hit two pins in the back right corner.
"I'm done. I'm done. That's it." He took a swig of his third beer.
"Just finish the frame Dean. Stop acting like a child." Sam was getting annoyed by Dean's behavior.
"Fine." Dean collected the spare and gave a small smirk. Sam bowled and won the game.
"Can we go now?" Dean asked.
"Yes, but I'm driving."
"No"
"You have had three beers. You are not driving."
"Sam's she's my car. Dad gave her to me, not you. I can drive if I want."
"Dean just shut up and let me drive. We are not going to wreck because your stupid drunk a** wouldn't let me drive."
Dean stumbled to the car and got in the driver's seat. Sam stood by him outside of the car and pushed him into the passenger's seat and got in the driver's seat. He drove back to the motel and they went inside. Dean crashed on the couch. Sam took a shower and went to bed.
In the morning Dean woke up and moaned and rubbed his head.
"Man I'm so hung over," Dean complained.
"I told you not to drink so much last night, but no you didn't listen."
"Well f*** off Sammy I'm going back to sleep."
"Okay whatever Dean."
Dean fell asleep.
