I Stand Here

-- x wanting to be content forever
Kyou Sohma

I stand here
Aimlessly staring out the window
Trying to find some escape

I stand here
Watching the birds fly away
Into the sapphire sky

I stand here
Mocked by my own reflection
At least it can be on the outside
Looking in

I stand here
Hearing my beads tap together
Hearing my fate already sealed

I stand here
Imagining her smile
And imagining I'm causing her smile

I stand here
Wondering what it will look like
When I see her smile through the bars
That will seal me away forever

I stand here
I stand here next to her
Never wanting to let her go
My beads may tap
The birds may be freer than I
My own reflection may be smirking at me
Eternal prison may be in my future
But I stand here
Holding her hand with a smile on my face
Content for now
Wanting to be content forever

Authoress Notes:

So, there you have it, some little poem thingy I wrote up when I was inspired. I dont' think it really has any certain rhythm to it - just free verse. The idea was too long to be a short story, or it would've rambled, and poetry sounded nice. So, here's the poem.

Review pleease!
